OK. I'll drain it down and top up via the pan where I can at least control the level.
For whatever reason doing it via the sink wont flow into the unit without assistance from the pump.
Thanks for your help anyway.
Yes .... fire away ....
I can work most stuff out. But I cant see whats inside this so cant see whats happening. Thats the problem.
In fairness I've used a degree of common sense and planning i.e. testing with water before wasting the descaler etc but for whatever reason this seems to be one...
Arggghhh.
This is driving me mad now.
I've blocked off the shower.
Did a test run of 5l of water down sink with power off. All ran away and level in toilet bowl rose after about the 4th litre, all good after the 5th litre. Great!
Switched it back on and let it it drain.
Then switched it...
I just edited previous thread, but crossed over your reply:
OK, final edit:
Can I just disconnect the trap from the pipe at the shower, and blank it off with something like this for the duration?

I meant remove the pipe from the saniflo and put the stopper in the saniflo - i.e. part F, like the ones that were in it before installation.
As for the actual installation, it wasn't me. Is it really that far out? I thought it had to be 180mm? In fact looking at step 11 in the manual, its 15cm...
OK, I'm back - sorry.
Maybe I'm over-thinking this.
The descaler is arriving tomorrow.
In the meanwhile I thought I'd switch off and try putting water down the sink to get an idea of how much I can put in without it overflowing into the shower tray.
Unfortunately any more that 2.5l and it...
Good warning ... perhaps I will just try the descaler first.
I just thought I should possible check there isn't anything in there that shouldn't be first, but you may have talked me out of it.
What is part 15 and what am I looking for when checking? Is that connected to an air inlet?
And...
Its probably about a 150mm drop from the shower.
OK, I'll order some descaler.
I'd probably prefer to check inside first to ensure hasn't got anything specific blocking it and just needs a clean.
Is it just a case of isolating the power and taking the top off to have a look?
And if I do take...
Thanks,
I have used that in the past, but a) it didn't do much and b) it wasn't easy to use.
Reason being is that the shower doesn't drain immediately (never has from new) so if I pour the cleaner down the shower it will just overflow into the shower tray. I'd have to put a lot down for it to be...
Thanks. I must admit I'm tempted to replace rather than pay for a repair if I cant find an obvious fault.
Looking at the manual I think part number 32 is the bit I think is stuck, and not closing, but my shower is connected to the right hand side.
Is there one of these on that side as well?
I...
In fairness it hasn't skipped a beat in 5 years, and without it we wouldn't have an ensuite.
It only gets used for number 1s and everyone is trained not to to chuck stuff down it.
Sounds like a seal is jammed or something similar. All I am after is a bit of advice so I can make plans to repair...
We have a sanifo sanislim (I think) in our bathroom.
W/C, sink one side and shower the other side.
ALthough it works recently I've noticed 2 things:
1. On flushing toilet there is a gurgling noise in the shower trap
2. It seems to run for longer on flushing the toilet
My suspicion is the...
Unfortunately, there's not room internally for a full-size door so it would have to open outwards, which we've discounted.
So really just after a way of opening/locking both doors off one lock, as described above, which seems the best compromise to us.
Thanks
We are looking to get new french doors for house.
For the sake of argument something very similar to this.
http://www.valuedoorsuk.co.uk/arched-french-door-item_417.html
The guy doing it has given us the option of:
a) single handle, single lock on one door, latches inside to hold other door...
When it rains the water overflows the corner gutter on our house.
I've not been up, and suspect there is some blockages, but dont think its a blockage as such that is causing the issue. Its like the corner piece hangs down slightly, and the very corner is the lowest point.
If I push up on it...
Thanks.
No, it is breeze block I think, but has been drilled several times before I think.
I'm actually using frame fixings, rather than actual wallplugs as I had already realised the wall wasn't great, but even they dont grip.
ANother option is...
Drilled tile for the shower rail, and drilled into wall behind.
Unfortunately the drill almost fell into the wall and the rawl plug is not gripping. I suspect the wall is just crumbling mortar behind.
WHats the best option?
I can try one of those stud wall fixings where the legs pul out...
