They are lath and plaster on 2 walls and plaster on brick on the other 2. 1930s house..

I'm not sure of the best way to proceed. The walls are not even from top to bottom but it sounds like a skim would weaken the walls. Am I better off sheeting the full walls with plasterboard?

I'm planning to get my bathroom walls skimming before tiling them (to get the walls even). Someone told me you don't tile on plaster anymore. Is this true? It sounds wrong.

What is the best way to go about removing this bath downpipe connection and seal it up, so the wall can be made flat.

Quick question: if I was to connect the basin into the same waste pipe as the shower, how would I avoid the basin syphonig the shower trap. I had this issue in my old flat, but I was on the 3rd floor and I think the fall of the downpipe was a big factor.

Thanks both. Makes sense to use a 1.5m 3 core + earth. Allows for future proofing. Not sure what sort of back box I would need. Most of these mirror cupboards come with a cable already attached, so you need a spot on the wall for some sort of back box which is also safe for a bathroom.

I have a sloped porch with felt tiles. They are watertight but show signs of wear. A roofer advised they don't need replaced right now. Is there a sealer/paint I can use on them to freshen them up and provide some extra protection?
