Fixing Shower tray to wooden floor

I have a stone resin shower tray to fix to a hardwood plywood sheet floor (link to wood below). The instructions say to use mortar to fix the tray. I've never used mortar to fix a tray before (I believe it's an older way of doing it). Would a strong adhesive not be a better choice? I've used...

    Tiling on plaster walls?

I'm not sure of the best way to proceed. The walls are not even from top to bottom but it sounds like a skim would weaken the walls. Am I better off sheeting the full walls with plasterboard?

    Tiling on plaster walls?

I'm planning to get my bathroom walls skimming before tiling them (to get the walls even). Someone told me you don't tile on plaster anymore. Is this true? It sounds wrong.

Toilet + Shower in same downpipe

Quick question: if I was to connect the basin into the same waste pipe as the shower, how would I avoid the basin syphonig the shower trap. I had this issue in my old flat, but I was on the 3rd floor and I think the fall of the downpipe was a big factor.

Toilet + Shower in same downpipe

Im replacing the bathroom in my new house and found the toilet and shower share the same downpipe. The basin runs to a different stack. I used to do some plumbing when I was younger and I've never seen this setup. It seems a bit unhygienic. It's an older house so the waste and rainfall...

Uneven (non-flat) Stone Tiles. Bathroom furniture first?

Hello Redoing my bathroom. The new tiles I have picked have a stone effect meaning there not flat. All 4 walls will be tiled. Tiles I've picked Im wondering if the bathroom furniture should be installed first, as it maybe hard to get a good seal round the shower enclosure or...

Cable for LED Bathroom mirror with shaving socket.

Thanks both. Makes sense to use a 1.5m 3 core + earth. Allows for future proofing. Not sure what sort of back box I would need. Most of these mirror cupboards come with a cable already attached, so you need a spot on the wall for some sort of back box which is also safe for a bathroom.

Cable for LED Bathroom mirror with shaving socket.

Hi, Im replacing my bathroom and I need to run a cable down the wall before the tiling gets done. What type of cable should I use for an LED bathroom mirror with a shaving socket? Im looking at this one from B&Q and the manual doesn't advise what size of wire is needed. I wont be wiring it in...

    Sealing Felt Tiles

I have a sloped porch with felt tiles. They are watertight but show signs of wear. A roofer advised they don't need replaced right now. Is there a sealer/paint I can use on them to freshen them up and provide some extra protection?

    Patch Cable Coupler?

City Fibre recently installed internet in my new house. They left me a spare fibre patch cable as I mentioned I may want to move the connection box after decorating. What coupler do I need to join the cables? Both ends are different sizes and I'm finding it confusing to understand what I need...
