How about the fuel supply.......fuel, tank filter etc? John :)

    Ready to use coolant

The anti - freeze properties stay with the cheaper mixes for many years......it's the anti corrosion additives that lets it down. John :)

Which screw to allow more fuel for petrol strimmer advice

The idle screw is visible in the first pic. Count how many turns the brass screw has before removing it completely. The carb may benefit from a good clean out, of course! John

    Ready to use coolant

I'd use the Prestone stuff without any qualms at all- it's been on the go for many years. John

Which screw to allow more fuel for petrol strimmer advice

The screw indicated by the blue arrow is actually a tapered needle that fits into the main jet......personally I've never had to adjust one of these so I'd go for the other one, and unscrew it anticlockwise an eighth of a turn at a time. John :)

    Sealey Battery Charger

When I smart charge my new Yuasa motorbike battery it never reads over 80% even when the charge indicates full. On starting up however, the battery indicates 100% when the motor is running. Maybe it's just a syndrome of battery charging that you are experiencing that we don't know much about...

    Trailer Build

I guess it all depends on the weight you intend to carry.......steel angle for me, and including steel tubing for the upper works. Consider copying an existing design, and maybe using Indespention suspension units. You may of course be able to recondition a second hand trailer from Gumtree or...

Hyundai garden multi tool. Starting issue

By doing this you are teasing the ignition coil to produce a stronger spark at the plug......aged mechanics trick! Take the machine back if convenient but if not, try a new plug first then maybe a new igniter unit. P.S using a ready mixed Aspen type fuel will pay dividends! Stihl and Husqvarna...

    Recommendations for a small van.

I have a Bipper, bought new in September 2017, £10000. The first thing I did was to chuck away the shell partition between driver and load space and replace it with a ladder type one, second hand. This greatly increases the load space and access. It now has 70k on the clock, I'm the only...

Ford Ka mk1 servicing continued....brake pads

Good move, the black comes from various rubber seals, combined with some heat. Dextron 3 I guess! John

    Audi A3 2011 1.8TFSI diagnosing a misfire

No reason not to check the resistance of the injectors, I seem to recall 16 ohms was about the normal on these but they should all be the same. John

Car cleaning, removing ground in algae and brake dust

I've used clay bars before but these days I use the No Nonsense wash and wax from Screwfix, Muc Off for bugs etc and Meguiars products if I want to go deeper. I don't have a garage so the cars have to get on with it really. Autoglym do a great dash board cleaner, forget the name of that one...

Car cleaning, removing ground in algae and brake dust

Obviously many products are available but do try Autoglym Magma to remove baked on metallic particles, Wonder Wheels wheel cleaner and Muc Off for general cleaning. A pressure wash is a good move before you get stuck in with clay bars or whatever. John

How do i get this to stick to glass?

Head to a motor factors and ask for either number plate sticky pads or rear view mirror sticky pads. The former type will be strong enough, just clean the glass first. John

    Mower veers to the right

Can you spin both rear wheels by hand easily enough - or is one stiffer to turn than the other? John :)

    Lawnmower Q

I certainly agree with jj - carb clean essential using an aerosol cleaner and compressed air if possible. Pop noises in the exhaust may indicate a faulty spark plug too. John :)

    Mower veers to the right

It sounds like the right hand wheel isn't being driven so check for the drive dogs missing or the wrong way round. If you can spin the small pinion on the axle in both directions, that's the clue. The pinion should freewheel in one direction and grip in the other. John

    Battery draining

A faulty alternator can happily discharge the battery.......as well as showing a charge when the engine is running! It's an idea to unplug the electrics from the alternator and see if the battery holds up. John :)
