Hi - Have Sealey Autocharger 400HF and put the car battery on charge last night, in total 9.5hrs.

Stupidly I left the ignition on yesterday and the battery run down to 9.65v

Although the voltage is back up to required max, the charge capacity still only shows 75% on the Sealey charger. In fact I can't ever in the four years that I have had the charger and two batteries, seen it over 85%.
Is this normal?
What could be the problem if any?

Kind regards

The battery is destroyed. Buy a new one.

Both because it was discharged far too much, and the fact it needed charging with some external charging affair in the first place.

Hi flameport

Thanks for your input.

""The battery is destroyed""

Even though it holds the charge put in it ( 14.1V) overnight?

When I smart charge my new Yuasa motorbike battery it never reads over 80% even when the charge indicates full.
On starting up however, the battery indicates 100% when the motor is running.
Maybe it's just a syndrome of battery charging that you are experiencing that we don't know much about?
John :)
