    Technika TV aerial socket fault

Have already had an aerial cable plugged in when adding the cable to the aerial. It did work but not now. Have tried the TV on the wall socket/cable I know works yet 'no signal'. There is a TV reset in the Picture sub menu, just reset with the OK but not bringing the aerial feed back to life...

    Technika TV aerial socket fault

LCD19-910 model No signal for TV in the menu. I had the TV back off and tested with a meter. From the edge of the pcb, pin 1 has continuity to the center pin and the socket barrel has continuity to pin 8. I've tapped the row of pins with the soldering iron in case of a dry joint but still no...

    Freeview aerial comparison

I get my TV signal from Pontop. According to Freeview for my post code, all channels from Pontop have good signal. I've read that a loft aerial can expect a 30% reduction in signal strength compare to an outside mount.

    TV coax cable

Yes, the pixelation is across all channels when it happens, even with good signal. Having given it some thought, the cable I mentioned runs down in the wall from the attic to the the g floor room. The wall is the divider between mine and next door. The houses are wood construction and next...

    TV coax cable

I got a screenshot of google map, marking a line between the transmitter and my street then zoomed into my street and copied and pasted part of the drawn line to get the angle - about 10° anticlockwise from the apex of the house roof.

    TV coax cable

Having recently installed a new 12db gain aerial in the loft, I get around 85% signal and 100% quality yet the TV still gets pixelation. The cable in the loft and TV socket in the g floor room were already installed when I move in early 2022 so presumably installed when the house was built in...

    Freeview aerial comparison

I was considering running a cable for an upstairs TV but a signal splitter, even just two way, reduces the signal out to 50% of that from the aerial. Considering the price of decent signal amplifiers, may as well get a 2nd aerial so each TV has its own signal. Stacked vertically, I believe 2ft...

    Log periodic aerial elements length

I visited a relative earlier today who lives in the same village as me. She has Freeview from a roof mounted aerial. Curious, I checked some of the channels on Freeview. Signal strength is around 51% yet the picture quality is excellent.

    Log periodic aerial elements length

I'm not sure if Google gave the correct area but I did find two transmitters with vertical polarization. This is was Google quotes (copied and pasted), The Bala TV transmitter, located in Wales, serves the local area with Freeview digital TV. It is a vertically polarized transmitter. For...

    Log periodic aerial elements length

Aerial project complete! I wasn't happy with the Raptor elements layout so returned it for refund and got a Blake log periodic @ TS. Now installed using the signal finder I invested in, I get about 75% signal strength and 100% signal quality according to the TV and all channels I've tried are...

Turns out the plunger wasn't running smooth in the barrel so gave both wipe with emery and got it working.

    Bora TDI starter solenoid

ATD engine Starter has been sluggish for a while so I removed to give it a clean/service. First thing on the bench was to test the pull in from the solenoid was working, which it was. Stripped, cleaned and lubed as deemed appropriate and when reassemble, tested it and found no action at all...
