    What grit sandpaper????

I used to think the same thing too. Many years ago I was spraying a cabinet with 2 part paint. The finish felt like someone had sprinkled it with an incredibly fine sand. I was planning to sand it with 500g on my random orbital sander but the paint manufacturer's technical help warned me that...

Google Nest Mini fault with radio 4 and radio 4 extra repeating sentence?

Why not just go through the Sounds app? You don't need to prove that you have a licence, you just need to say that you have one. I listen to BBC content on my phone throughout the day via my BT speaker and mobile data. I simply submit my email address/password and it works. I might be wrong...

    What grit sandpaper????

Go for a 240 grit then. A cheaper version will something like the following. https://www.toolchimp.co.uk/vaunt-x-115mm-x-5m-240-grit-mesh-net-sanding-roll I haven't use the above though. I recommended a flexible mesh because it is less likely to clog. When abrasives clog, the clogs can rip...

    Extractor fan installation

If the black dots are on the ceiling- why not consider using water based eggshell. Any moisture will sit on the surface rather than soaking into the emulsion. In the past, in bathrooms with inadequate ventilation, I have seen the water literally drip from the eggshell ceiling leaving the paint...

Cleaning dried off zinser from carpet

Kool. And whenever using brushes with ammonia, dip it in the ammonia and then rinse the brush. It will not stain the ceramic basin/sink. I normally pour some into a jar so that I can use it again later. If the brush has gone hard, you may need to leave in the ammonia overnight. The ammonia will...

    UPVC window handle stopped working

Out of interest- How do you get to the lower screw if the handle will not turn?

    Extractor fan installation

If directly above the shower, you may need a low voltage fan, or an inline fan if there is space to fit one.

Cleaning dried off zinser from carpet

Household ammonia would be my go to. Unlike alcohol it breaks down the shellac. Leave for while and then rinse with water. When dry you should just have white dust in the carpet. BTW, I am assuming that you have a carpet that is happy to come into contact with small amounts of water.

    What grit sandpaper????

Water or oil based paint? I would use 180g or 240g Abranet mesh. Not cheap but great for soft paint.

best way to cover large transition between tiles and carpet

It looks like you will need to plane the door unless a carpenter makes a wedge shape which butts up to the edge of the tiles. And if it does butt up, you will need a sympathetically coloured silicone to act as an expansion joint.

Is this normal...painting wardrobe doors....advice needed please

As much as I like the Leyland Trade primer undercoat... it is pants at obliterating darks colours. I normally use the white Dulux Trade oil based undercoat when trying to paint over black, two coats is often, but not always, sufficient. That said, I appreciate that you want to stick with...

    corner sink unit

Are there no fixing holes at the rear? I suspect that it was supposed to sit on an appropriately sized corner unit to hide the pipe work... I am only guessing though. By way of an example... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wooden-Bathroom-Corner-Vanity-Sink/dp/B0CSTCBDP7?th=1

Help - leaking from under door threshold

I am just thinking aloud here... years ago when I built my garage I was gifted a stupidly thick/deep hardwood door sill. I lower side was wayyy too low but I didn't want to offend the person gifting it to me. When it rained heavily, a small amount of water would weep through. I eventually...

How to stop this when painting doors?

Evidence of bubbles would suggest air rather than contaminants (ie not fisheyes). As per my earlier post, try less pressure and mist the roller with water so that it is less inclined to expel air. Again, thinning the paint might help, but you have since discovered that a double roll works...
