    Gas pipe buried in wall?

I am getting internal wall insulation added to a house. Currently the pipes feeding the rads upstairs plus the gas feed run up the wall by the front door in boxing. I have removed all this boxing for when the fitters come to fit the insulation. They said the rad on the wall will be brought...

    Rear light console Citroen berlingo

My 2015 Citroen van has a light out at the rear. I’ve changed the bulbs and it works with the lights on but it doesn’t come on when you break. I noticed the bulb holder had poor contact and was slipping. So I thought I would buy a new console as they are £45. But all suppliers provide the...

    Pan connector creativity

The L shaped flex doesn’t work as the soil pipe would need to be moved in line with the toilet moving forward. A flexi is fine but it can’t accommodate coming forward about 100mm

    Pan connector creativity

I have changed my bathroom around and added wall insulation, new shower etc. the flex pan connector I have is no longer ok for what I need as the toilet has moved forward about 100mm and more to the right going towards the soil outlet. The soil pipe is in the same position. So I now need to...

    Boiler pressure creeping up

Yes serviced and a new EV done this jan as we weren’t sure if the leak was this. So I decided to put a new one in to cross it off list of possibilities. Ok I don’t think water is getting in. Will see how I get on after the clean out is finished.

    Boiler pressure creeping up

I had a hidden leak on my system beginning of this year. So added leak sealer. Then a rad started leaking recently from its main body. So I binned this rad and replaced with a new one. I assume this was where the hidden leak was all along. I now want to clean my system so two weeks ago I...

    Cleaning Yorkshire stone floor

I am going to uncover a stone floor laid in a living room I am working on. It has been laid on a normal joisted and boarded floor and is 140 yrs old I think (as old as the house). Its been covered in carpet for as long as ive owned it. So I want to clean it, and not sure how to start. There...

    Swapping corner base unit around

The photo shows the base unit with a 400 door opening on the right side. I am remodelling and this base will go back in where the draw pack is. So can I just cut the post and move it forwards to create a 400 opening where the draw pack is now?

    Cleaning a system (which cleaner)

Yes got the magna clean pro 2. My system is not that bad, but I ve got 2 rads with colder spots lower down so I think these will need sorting out. I flushed them with a hose pipe before they went in as well. They were second hand, but good condition.

    Cleaning a system (which cleaner)

Couple of questions on flushing and using the cleaners for sludge removal. 1) X800 is the fast acting one and you can clean after a few hours I think. But is it better to use X400 ? I understand you need to run the heating for a few weeks before flushing. Is this product kinder to the pipe...

    Door locking mechanism sticking

The multi point top locks do not fully retract and so stay in the locked position a little bit. The door can be opened and closed but you need to use more force. Is this an easy fix or do I need to replace the whole mechanism?

    Ecostrad ceramic rad not working

I see. Mine was a holiday let but after the first season I switched it to normal rental. Holiday let’s we’re just not worth the extra work. I won’t be using this type of electric heater again though. This lasted 10mths. The other 2 are still ok. I’m preparing to have to replace them...
