No sorry, I think we found out what the smell was. A new house is being built next door and we think it may be that they are working on the sewage or something.

I was speaking to the site foreman yesterday when I got home from work and he said that if I chip the loose plaster away he would get it skimmed for me. He didn't mention a charge either which was good. How much should I chip away?

It's the landing ceiling beside the attic door. There is one light fitting but it is nowhere near the loose plaster. Does the entire ceiling need replastered or just where the loose plaster is? I'll maybe try and take a picture of it later if that's any more help?

Yes the piece of wood has now been removed. The house next to us is due to be plastered within the next few weeks so we could potentially get it done then. How much would you estimate a job like this would cost to do if we were to get our own plasterer in to do it?

I have to track the wall in the kitchen in order to get wiring for lights on the underside of the cupboards. The tracking is only going to be about an inch wide and about 5 inches long. Should I plaster over the hole or would it be OK to fill it up with the tile adhesive?
