lighting adapter to 3 pin plug

I know radials use more cable, but I prefer them to ring finals. They're easier to test, inspect and fault-find. And they can't be DIY-butchered quite so easily.

lighting adapter to 3 pin plug

The imperial equivalent of 0.5, or 0.75, I would think. The flex would possibly be twisted figure of 8, flat twin or round twin or three core depending on the era and the lamp. Houses wired with round pin sockets usually had a mix of 15A and 5A, but IME, I saw a lot more 2A in place of the 5s...

    Ukraine Beach Drone

Russia is trying to con the west but succeeding in conning its own. They see the drone coming in, make a conscious decision to shoot it down over the beach knowing the risks, then blame Ukraine! And did you see the interview between a Russian member of the public and Steve Rosenberg? She...

    What have you bought today?

Our kettles have been Which? Best Buys for years. IDK why I bother. Every single one has ended up either noisy or, more commonly, taking absolutely ages to switch off. Thus the eco kettle which only takes a tiny amount of electricity to boil a cupful, ends up using a load more because the...

You're a fellow human in personal stress?

I know it's easy for me to say this as a veggie (!), but cutting down a little on meat, maybe having a meat-free day every week, would be a good adjustment to the diet, as well as saving money. I obviously don't eat meat, but the rest of my family do, and I've noticed just how expensive it is.

You're a fellow human in personal stress?

JP I must apologise profusely to you. Somehow I have missed this. I am so sorry about your wife. First, can I say, there is absolutely no right or wrong way to mourn and no time limit within which mourning is completed. Regarding exercise, there are many that can be done in a chair, moving...

Would this be a fire risk?

My Father's second wife once plugged a fan heater into a coiled up extension lead. It melted the flex together, but it was a 3kW heater on a 15m 5A lead. The lead was rated at 1200W fully unwound and 480w fully wound.

Would this be a fire risk?

Yes, there's not going to be metres and metres of flex and it won't be enclosed on a reel. And even if it was, the amount of current drawn is not going to generate a excessive amount of heat. The heat that is, will dissipate easily, even if the flex is coiled.

    Keybox that's actually secure?

Can't remember the one I got but it was so the carers could let themselves in when I was bed-bound. It was a sold secure or secured by design model recommended by police and came with 100mm masonry screws (the type that screw direct into a hole without a plug) that were 10mm diameter. Solid...
