    What are you drinking tonight?

Hooray! Me too! The big six-oh... 60 is the new 30! Guinness 0% has 3.1g sugar in the 440ml can and 75 kcals. Heineken 0% lager (330ml) by comparison has 4.3g of sugar and 69 kcals. If you scale those Heineken figures up to the same 440ml can size as Guinness, the sugar would be 5.73g and...

What are you watching on TV right now?

Watching Ann Droid at the moment. Rather amusing. Is it just me making the association with Sue Johnson or is the Ann Droid music reminiscent of the Brookside theme?

    What are you drinking tonight?

Just catching up on this thread. I applaud everyone who's giving zero alcohol a go. There are many great drinks out there with no alcohol. I've worked out it must be 20 years since I last drank alcohol. As for 0.5%, don't worry. You will never get drunk on it, because you cannot physically...

    Coca cola

I remember trying it in Manchester in 1983. VILE. To me, it tasted like mouthwash. But obviously some people liked it, because it was on the menu in the UK for 19 years, from 1974 to 1993!

Fluorescent tube - is tube faulty or is it the starter?

Yeah...I call them chokes...ahem... My first experience with fluorescent fittings was in a Victorian mill where there were 1940s fittings with old bakelite BC lamp holders and tubes with BC endcaps. The wiring used to be DC and was wired in conduit with porcelain roses and the colours (not sure...

    Private Number Plates

Tried to figure this one out. Knowing that people interchange letters for numbers, I figured it could be W38 BLE: vehicle could not be found. Wondering if the I character was added in, I tried W3 BBE: comes back as a black Merc. You'd have to really bugger about with the characters, but I...

    What have you bought today?

A lottery ticket as tonight is draw 1966, the year of my birth. A long shot, but I figured if I won, I'd share it with others I know who have the same birth year.

A good UK SIM Card for a 4G Phone

All UK MVNOs piggyback off either Three, Vodafone, O2 or EE. Of the ones recommended by Which?, Talkmobile use Vodafone's network, Giffgaff, O2's, Smarty use Three's (in fact Smarty are owned by Hutchison who operate Three), 1p Mobile use EE and Lebara use the Voda network. The other one...

A good UK SIM Card for a 4G Phone

IDK why, but I often get scam calls on my second SIM from companies insisting it is an O2 number and they want to put me on an iffy contract. Don't get any of those on my main number and the joke is the second number has never been given out to anyone, whereas literally thousands of people have...

Andy’s wife is starting on a low for me.

True, but given a) the price and b) the designer of the garment and c) the fact that the dress would be getting a very public outing, I'd like to think that b) would have made sure the damn thing fitted, something that us mere mortals are left to judge ourselves, and sometimes get wrong.
