On the subject I really dont like the taste of any artificial sweeteners in things like diet coke, just tastes like chemicals to me - cokechemtrails when i go for a piz you might say

Yes, can vouch for that. Night on the Bass and you wouldn't need to set the alarm clock in the morning. A situation known as Bass a$$. Bass and a vindaloo - now that was living dangerously!

Still a nice pint, but not the same drink these days.

Isn’t the coke in a pub from the push button hand held thing just flat coke syrup or simular then mixed with a sparkling soda of some sort ?

Yes, called post mix because it's mixed to make the drink afterwards with the necessary ingredients. The Coke syrup comes in a big bag in a box, bit like a wine box.

Yes I bloody well put coca cola in Glenfiddich.

I wasnt out focusing cask maturation, and distillation. I wasn't sniffing the bloody stuff. I was out to get drunk and pull a bird . And enjoy myself.

End result was more like a Meat loaf hit.

Same here. I tried it once in about 2004 in the Mall of America, Minneapolis. I assumed it was proper beer. I took one swig and left the rest.
