The current government should raise the tax threshold from 12.700 to 20k. That would help get things going.

Then take the 40% to 42%

NOBODY should have to pay more tax. The only way to save the economy is to stop spending a fortune on benefits for people pretending to be disabled, stop immigration and make unemployed people do the jobs that are currently being done by immigrants.

I agree somewhat. But some people will just never work. They may well turn up but then do a shoddy job, or end up leaving after 2 hours. It's this that costs businesses a lot of time and money just sorting out recruitment, PAYE, payroll etc for all of these revolving door employees.

My idea has always been that anyone who doesn't work at all should have UC paid in vouchers. You can spend it on groceries but not fags or alcohol, puppies, illegal ebikes or tattoos. To get cash, you'd need to present evidence as to why you need £x in cash and when approved, you can exchange a voucher for it.

They used to do this for (only) milk when I worked in the Co-op. If someone is having their food, rent, bills, paid to them in vouchers, I don't see how anyone can complain. We should never have given in years ago to all those who said "we want to manage our own money so pay everything into our account and....the cheques in the post Mr landord, right after I get this full sleeve tattoo". You want to manage your own money, then get a job. You want to rely on the state to pick up the bill, then suck up the vouchers so you can't waste the money on things you don't need to live.

But the biggest benefit recipients are in fact OAPs.
