Trumps attack on Iran - 2026 edition

Oiling up the angry toddler. Perhaps she offered him a lollipop and a slightly used Peace Prize. Only Tangoman goes wild at the absence of a posh suit. A self-confident leader secure in his position would not. No suit required.

...2.5mm T&E, 32A MCB for a socket circuit regardless of the situation - so no radials with a single socket fed from a 20A or 16A MCB, no lollipops, now radials with 4mm cable and 32A MCB, ... EVER. We all know that some other circuit arrangements can have benefits over RFC in some situations...

    And another one..

I have been on loads of nights out and saw loads of women drunk and flashing a bit of flesh, I have never attacked anyone or even had the urge to, thank god we are different (y)

    And another one..

...like the way some do, on top of getting drunk puts their safety at risk. Dress properly and you likely dt get harassed. Simple. Take a lollipop as example- if the wrapper stays on it, nothing gets to it or tries to take a taste...unwrap it and leave it out, it will attract flies and other...

    Speeding error

I have noticed near me that a lot of these school speed reduction schemes have the flashing lights and sign at the start of the zone but absolutely nothing to tell you the zone has ended (TSRGD Sign P675 or a NSL sign) causing confusion.

    Speeding error

The laws on speed limit signs are very well defined, but frequently not complied with by those putting them up. Its the same for yellow box junctions. Just yesterday I was travelling on a "30mph" limit according to the entry signs and the digital display on the car. Unfortunately, there were...

    Speeding error

Interesting. Many Schools have variable speed limits outside the premises apparently operated by lollipop ladies (30 mph down to 20 mph which is typically used at the start and end of the school day). Several times I’ve noticed the flashing ambers are on at one end of the controlled section of...

    Two plug in ovens

I thought the fuse protected the flex, not the T&E? Wouldn't I need FCUs to make sure the 2.5mm doesn't overload and the 32 MCB not trip? (Talking to meet regs, I wouldn't be plugging anything other than the two ovens in.)

    Two plug in ovens

It will be protected by the plug fuses - 2 x 13A = 26A - just right for 2.5mm². No point having a lollipop nor two cables in parallel.

    Two plug in ovens

That’s what is colloquially known as a “lollipop” circuit. Not recognised as a standard circuit type, but nothing particularly wrong with it. Better than extending the 32amp radial (wired in 4 or 6mm² ?). by adding a single length of 2.5mm² cable. IMO.

    Keeping tilt window open

Amazingly helpful. Thanks so much, Robin. Very kind for a bank robber :) There's nowhere to fix the metal lollipop stick to I don't think. Also the mechanism is very complicated and I feel like that's where the top of the door connects and locks. Based on what I can see IRL, I think the best...

Am I on ring or radial sockets (test results included)

Okay thanks all for the help. I do need a bit more instruction though. When you say "measure resistance line to line, neutral to neutral and earth to earth, to see if part of a ring" or when pete01 says "Disconnect it and test continuity between both live wires both neutral wires and both earth...

Am I on ring or radial sockets (test results included)

...along, but rarely seen with domestic. Yours does seem better than most, but the only way to be sure any socket with two or more cables is part of a ring is to measure resistance line to line, neutral to neutral and earth to earth, to see if part of a ring. Even then it could be a lollipop...

Double socket spurred off consumer unit?

...I suppose that started some years ago before I was into electrics and I asked an electrician what was wrong with what we nowadays call a lollipop circuit (6.0 T & E feeding a small 2.5 ring final) and his answer was that the E conductor in the 6.0 portion was of a smaller current carrying...

    MCB v RCD operation

You’re speculating and lots of cheap accessories won’t accept 2 x 6mm cables Best the OP pays to get the install inspected properly Eyes on site trumps random internet advice

    MCB v RCD operation

I don't think that would make any difference (and would offer no real benefit over a 6mm² radial), since the 'ring part' of the lollipop would presumably also have to be 6mm², since even Method C 4mm² doesn't have quite enough CCC to be adequately protected by a 40 A OPD - and a bit of that...

...the ratio meant the phone was more like a tablet. It got dropped and bent and suffers screen glitches. In any case, it won't update beyond Lollipop. This was my favourite simply due to the size. I could read it much more easily. Then I got a cheap Chinese phone as an interim thing but kept...
