Waterproofing a rooflight to a brick upstand against a wall

Hi all, I have a lightwell in my basement, and I've ordered a glass access hatch over it, with trickle vents. I'm going to build a brick upstand about 150mm/2 bricks high to 3 sides of the lightwell. The 3rd side is against a wall, so I will fix a batten on here so the rooflight kerb has...

Anyone seen a toilet installed like this before?

As I don't live at the property, was hoping I could buy a toilet without measuring.......But you are right! I will go and measure today. I would like to replace it with a back to the Wall Toilet, something like this: https://www.qssupplies.co.uk/bathroom-furniture-shower-taps/6238.htm...

Anyone seen a toilet installed like this before?

If I replaced the toilet, I would want to replace with a back to the wall toilet. Do you think this is possible?

Anyone seen a toilet installed like this before?

Strange. I never seen any toilets with pan off at an angle from the floor waste. But I guess this was before the invention of adjustable flexible waste pipes..... Also, my toilet pan lines up with the waste, so the design is redundant here

Anyone seen a toilet installed like this before?

Anyone know what the point of a 2 part toilet was? Seems designed to collect bacteria and spread disease.

Anyone seen a toilet installed like this before?

House is victorian. Can't I get any replacement toilet with a floor waste connection, and just extend the flush pipe to suit? Do you think the connection will be easy for a plumber?

Anyone seen a toilet installed like this before?

Somebody couldn't be bothered to install a new toilet so they cut the bowl off and stitched a new one on top!! I need to replace this toilet! What are my best options? The floor under the toilet is made up of solid concrete or screed on concrete on earth. These are my current...

Limecrete Flooring with UFH in a basement - damp issues

Hi, I'm buying a semi basement flat (early victorian/georgian). One of the walls in the flat is a retaining wall, the other walls are above ground but don't have a DPC. I think the flooring is laminate laid on top of a concrete slab. I am almost positive the survey will come back with damp...

Need a Glass / clear plastic cover for a Light Well

Found a few hinged panels on ebay under the description "hinged bath screen". Similar to this: https://www.victorianplumbing.co.uk/300-x-1400mm-mini-curved-fixed-bath-screen Would have preferred it be aluminium - as it would last longer - but hoping chrome lasts a few years outdoors at least.

Need a Glass / clear plastic cover for a Light Well

Yes I wish you were local! I'm all in favour of repurposing old stuff. A shower screen hinge and panel is a good bit of engineering that could definitely be reused as a lid to something! I'll keep looking on ebay and gumtree!

Need a Glass / clear plastic cover for a Light Well

I've sent an email - but don't think they have my size. Also planned to swap glass out for for perspex - as safer - so then I'm spending alot of money for just the hinge.

Need a Glass / clear plastic cover for a Light Well

Hi SFX, The more I looked at it - the more I started thinking same as you - but using a continuous shower hinge and perspex sheet....just seemed very pricey https://www.shower-glass.co.uk/shower-door-hinges/full-length-hinge-profile/continuous-shower-door-hinge-for-8mm-glass/ I was going to...

Hi, I need to find a clear light well cover that just keeps the rain out of the light well. I'm trying to find a product that has a hinged rail that attaches to the wall, like these products: https://toma24.com/productcart/meacape-glass-cover-for-mea-light-well...

What floor finish can you lay on a liquid applied bitumen DPM ??

We have a basement floor that we need covering. The existing floor is made up of 50mm screed on subsoil / compacted gravel mix - we don't think there's any concrete slab. The floor is well above the water table but occasionally we get water coming in around the floor perimeter when the sump...

Lightwell drainage and means of escape

Hi all, In the old deeds, when the victorian house was converted into 2 flats, the basement is described as a 'cellar'. It does not look like a cellar as it has been plastered, skirting, electrics and plumbing put in, so could be used as a bedroom/habitable room. There is even a sump pump put...
