    Garden Taps

Nope Yep, apart from the TP advice Sort of! Internally is required! WRAS requires a DCV to be installed internally along with a means of isolation and a means of drain off after the isolation point. Just because a tap has a DCV or CV does not mean that the install will comply. Jon

Most common cause of floods or leaks in houses .....

These are more common than you may think and have been around a good while, whilst not taken on board on the domestic market they are getting there on the commercial. Mostly run through a BMS such as Trend. If you're a gas "engineer" though you can make your own. ;) Jon

Central heating with no room thermostat

Yep cheers Ian for that! If only I could have mentioned it I'd have felt slightly validated by the thanks received. Now I'm just going to wallow in self pity in the mediocrity that is my life and slowly self mutilate while perving over an Intergas brochure and then waiting for the sweet release...

Central heating with no room thermostat

Bloody Scots coming over here and causing hassle! Bugger now I'm offending the Scots! I really shouldn't be allowed out on a weekend. Anyway back to the OP. Stick a stat on, you won't regret it but don't put the salus in as it will bite you in the arse as they are far from reliable and...

Most common cause of floods or leaks in houses .....

Still shoite, rubber promotes a sludge build up, just ask vaillant and viesmann about their rubber hoses. Not full bore so restrict flow and normally installed wrongly anyway. 85C isn't great either. It's very close to tolerance on an average working system. In a fault condition it's basically...

Most common cause of floods or leaks in houses .....

Wouldn't surprise me, mostly used for the wrong purpose (heating / plinth heaters) or poor installs with tight/kinked bends. Jon

Central heating with no room thermostat

Part L and it requires a boiler interlock which can be a room thermostat. Jon

    Honeywell st699 clock issue

Yes they are a straight swap and done in seconds. Altgough I like to change the backplate also as it's neater and prefer the matching backplate. Simple one for one wiring and should still take less than 10 minutes to do. Jon

Try these, a few of them together should be enough to hold it up.

    Price to replace expansion vessel

I'm guessing that If the op has done a bit of research, he mentions tundish as wherever can see water p***ing out. No complaints if lack of heating. My crystal ball is going for an unvented that has failed (TPRV) opening. If a red vessel them not really suitable for unvented but I'm also...

    Pest control -mice?

Old post I know but it popped up today and this should be taken with heed. If the air vent is for an open flues gas appliance and providing combustion or cooling air then fitting a fine mesh over the vent is a big no no as the openings need to be at least 6mm and non closable hence why shutter...

    Filling condensate trap

You don't know the OP and his numerous other posts do you BG? Have a look at previous posts of his and you will see he is a serial offender of asking GSR questions without knowledge which leads us to believe he is a plumber/handyman carrying out illegal gas works while trying to glean knowledge...
