Adding a Mag lock to a Audio system

I posted this on the electrics UK forum, But it might be better on here. I would like to add a mag lock to a Bell Audio system for three flats, but I am a little unsure if the two would be compatible. The audio system is a simple 3 button bell, system and the mag lock and keypad/fob reader is...

Adding a Mag lock to a Audio door entry system

I would like to add a mag lock to a Bell Audio system for three flats, but I am a little unsure if the two would be compatible. The audio system is a simple 3 button bell, system and the mag lock and keypad/fob reader is an ESP EZtag 3...

    gate access

Its a back gate. Client want a lock that can be operated from the house, or from a keypad. I think some external (Between back door and gate) opening switch would be a good idea so you don't get locked out the house and locked in the garden by the gate. I don't think an emergency release button...

    gate access

Looking to install magnetic lock on a garden gate. Sounded quite simple, but then you can start to over think it. The gate will have a lock which can be released from a switch in the house, and by a key pad on the street side of the gate. As you are outside I presume an emergency break glass...

    LED derating

Is there a standard derating factor for LED lighting. Im a bit confused how many LED lights dimmers can handle. For example Lutron suggest that a 10 Watt led should be treated like a 100w incandescent So a 600w dimmer can only safely manage 6, 10-20 watt lamps ( The jump from 10 to 20 w...

CPC not continuous on ring final circuit

Not really any circuits to combine, its only a 6 way CU, and things are already doubled up

CPC not continuous on ring final circuit

The CPC on a Kitchen RFC is not continuous. It looks like some one has had a go at fixing it, by fusing it down to 20 A, and putting that circuit on an RCD. So I wonder if the break was not able to be located. Each socket is earthed , via each leg. R2 readings are good, and Zs is good Of...

    Golf buggy charges

This was a CU in another trolly room. Live. An electrician had called in and replaced the main switch, after the melt down, so the board would still work! Apparently, he did say its 'Only a temporary solution' !! When I asked how long its been like this, 'About a year I think' was the answer...

    Golf buggy charges

Six buggies, so six chargers. The circuit has sockets for more buggies. Yes its on a 20 amp circuit. This circuit also has a large compressor which pulls about 9A, and the inrush is quite high. Iv'e switch this off for now. Its been in use for a few years though, so these chargers seem like they...

    Golf buggy charges

Thanks for all the replies On the face of it, it would seem that, if working per spec and not faulty, this charger could never trip a 20A breaker, no matter what was connected to its output. It seems I cant do quotes either :( They are 6 charges on this 20 A circuit

    Golf buggy charges

This is the info on the battery charger. As I am trying to find out the amps drawn on the primary side With the ratio of 5-1, I would make that 3.6amps on the primary side however it states 12-6A

    Golf buggy charges

Thank you for taking the time. Very helpful I have always struggled with transformer ratios, I see the principle, but it won't click.

    Golf buggy charges

No i don't think it will. Its obvious, I have a big hole in my understanding, which is embarrassing and frustrating me. I see the relationship (x5), but if you could expand further, I would really appreciate it

    Golf buggy charges

Im looking at a golf cart charging station. The whole install is quite poor. There are charging points for 12 carts, (Outdoor 13amp sockets, flex on a 13amp plug to blue commando type socket. Protected by a 100ma RCD!) but physically you can only fit 6 carts in. They charge overnight, but...

    Golf buggy charges

Charging a 48v golf buggy. I've been trying to find out the charging requirements. Basically how many amps a charger will require to charge up the batteries. And how that current draw will change depending on the charge state of the batteries. Any help appreciated

How much space to leave around the down light in kings

I know its quite late in the build, but do you really want spotlights in that location. Shining right in your eyes, I would be tempted to find another way to light the room, before the plasterboard goes up.

    Storage Heater Insulation Resistance

Putting large metal boxes in every room, you would want them to be properly earthed, and a value of 0.5mohms on an appliance would concern me. The manufactures state this as a minimum. I was more interested in the reasons for the low IR values.

Yes, Standard heaters , not the new electronic thermostat controls. Manufactured by Olsberg

    Storage Heater Insulation Resistance

I was wondering if there was some electronic component, a suppressor or such to reduce noise? Have no idea on electronics , so could be talking nonsense. Yes testing at the incoming terminals. Thanks for the suggestion
