    Sealing breathable membrane

So I've laid new breathable membrane but water is still getting inside presumably from wind driven rain in the laps, nail hole from the batten, clout nails etc. What's the best way to seal this before putting roof tiles on top?

    Breathable Membrane Detailing

@^woody^ I cut and threw away all of the old sarking on my side of the party wall. So right now, my roof has zero old sarking. Unless I have misunderstood you, is my only option either to now 1. Fit the new piece of membrane to the second rafter in on the neighbour's side, then run the...

    Breathable Membrane Detailing

Great, i jumped the gun and cut the existing sarking at the party wall However, in my defence, I cut the sarking at the party wall because most of the sarking was so weak and torn in too many places. Also, I never saw your message before starting work :giggle: So is the way forward to take the...

Can't remove old Anti-roll bar linkage

Got it out and replaced the part. Thank you. Used blow torch to heat up bolt/melt rubber Then cut bolt with grinder as you advised. Then used utility bar/crow bar to create space to remove the remaining bolt/plastic. I didn't see a nut on the old bolt.

Can't remove old Anti-roll bar linkage

Thank, but I have to admit, i am too lazy for that kind of manual labour. Grinder >> Hacksaw Gas torch.. Angle grinder.. Now you're talking my language. Should I cut the head of the bolt? Or should I go more central, like where the rubber is? The top of the bolt, where the nut is threaded...

    Head Lights Not Working MOT

I knew it.. I remember reading about this crazy leeway from an MOT tester years back. I also knew that i would probably get mocked/laughed at due to the premise of the thread @Mottie top man for clearing things up and saving the day :giggle: He who laughs last, laughs longest. When it...

    Head Lights Not Working MOT

Cars due an MOT Bulbs in headlights do not work. Is it true that if I were to disconnect the wire that connects to the headlights, then the mechanic cannot fail the vehicle on the basis that the headlights could not be tested? The vehicle was built before 2006

How to break into a door with a Push Button Lock?

    1. Noise. 2. It would damage the lock and (possibly) the surrounding area (e.g. door). 3. I believed that there was a non-destructive way to get the door open. Hence the thread.
