Metal Stud In Partition Wall For Loft Plug

Im planning on taking a spur off the landing double socket and feeding this up the partition wall and into a socket in the loft. Problem is the walls are joined together with a metal C stud which you can see in the loft. I can see where the electricians have cut holes in to them and used a...

    Changing Kitchen Socket To Double

Sorry Harry I got the wrong end of the stick in what you were suggesting. I didn’t realise you could get a socket like that and thought you meant just an adapter type plug which physically plugs into the spare socket I had. I’ll remember those for next time as I had already finished the job when...

    Changing Kitchen Socket To Double

Thanks for help I did think that but I’m just uneasy about using something like that on a dishwasher and it’s adding another level of possible complications. It’s behind an integrated dishwasher so don’t want to keep getting it out.

    Changing Kitchen Socket To Double

Thanks I’ll look into getting a decent quality socket as I was planning on using one spare lying in the garage but don’t think it’s anything well known! I’m London way...

    Changing Kitchen Socket To Double

I have an under sink water filtration system in the kitchen and this is run off a mains plug via a transformer. Looks like this draws 1A and need to plug this in somewhere. There is a single gang plug for the dishwasher close by and was thinking of converting this into a double socket so I can...

Stopcock Not Completely Shutting Water Off

Thanks for the quick reply - I have just followed your advice and upstairs cold taps have no flow which is a good sign. I’m now running the downstairs tap for a lot longer and it has now isolated the supply so thanks for your help there. I wasn’t giving the downstairs tap enough time to drain...

Stopcock Not Completely Shutting Water Off

I was going to fit an under sink water filter but before ordering the kit I wanted to check that I could successfully isolate the cold mains water supply. The house is only 5 years old and the under sink stopcock is clearly labellled as ‘mains water supply’. I have screwed this all the way in...

    Replace Danfoss TP9000, TS2 & TP4000 with Tado

Bringing this thread back to life - I also have a very similar setup in a newish build property. I will need two thermostats by the looks of it as the TP5000 is upstairs controlling the upstairs zone and the 9000 for downstairs. Does the TADO work fine with two thermostats one for upstairs zone...

Honeywell Evohome Questions What Do I Need...

Thanks for detailed reply that has helped and as you say maybe the only way is to remove the motorised valves. If that was the case I would be questioning if it is really worth the effort/time/money versus the benefit I’m really going to get from this setup in the long run.

    Honeywell Evohome Questions..

I’m thinking of going for the Honeywell Evohome in my house and while I understand the logic behind it I’m struggling in what I need for it to work seamlessly in my house with my current heating and water setup. I have an unvented water cylinder in airing cupboard and a potterton promax SL...

    Indesit washing machine concrete block

Thanks for that no reason really but the blocks have that look to it where it could be asbestos. Doubt it would be used nowadays especially in a washing machine!

Fishing Shotgun Cable Up Dot and DAB Walls

Thanks for the help I will have a try at pulling the cable from the loft to see if there is any movement. I think there isn’t though as when I was up there a year or so ago I can vaguely remember wondering why there was no play in another aerial cable in the loft. Your explanation would make...

Fishing Shotgun Cable Up Dot and DAB Walls

I currently have just a single coaxial cable going from my sky dish to the lounge connected to a face plate. The shotgun cable goes from the sky dish into the loft then into a converter (global stacker/destacker) which then sends the sky signal down the single coaxial cable into the lounge. I am...

    Side Passage Conversion

Compression Fittings Not Securing Onto Webpro Cable

Have tried with the plugs you recommended and cut off about 1/4 inch copper and left 1/4 inch of dielectric as in pictures attached. It has worked a treat with solid connections on both ends. Thanks the help - looks like the original plugs were not fitting onto my WEBRO cable . Glad I have done...
