Any issues mixing brands of control panel and PIRs?

Hi, I have a Texecom Veritas R8 alarm with what I believe are the Texecom Reflex PIRs. One of the sensors is broken and I have a Honeywell PIR to replace it. Both have 6 connections for the 6 core cable, however the Texecom has a tamper switch (a little spring), where as the Honeywell does...

Using silicone to fix split face tiles

Hi Looking to fit approx 6 square metres of split face to a kitchen wall. Tile shop has said to use silicone or no nails to stick onto the wall. The wall to be tiled is a painted plasteboard wall and is in good condition. Guessing this isn't the ideal method but has anyone else used this...

    Extending Lighting Cable

Seems to be lots of conflicting info regarding joining cables lately. I asked a similar question (joining 2.5mm ring main) and crimping is not the preferred method in solid cables. Apparently crimping is meant for stranded cables. Yet on this thread, crimping 2.5mm and wrapping with HS is...

If they do not need to be accessible why are they are not MF? Not sure yet regarding current cable route. Assuming by your wording if the cable runs vertically (up or down) to it I can't move horizontally? I'll be getting one of these...

Are these classed as a maintenance free connection

    Extending 6mm cooker cable

TBH I didn't think that would be allowed - taking a 2.5mm spur from 6mm cable. The spurred socket would only be used for the gas hob ignition. Sure would be a lot easier Thanks

    Extending 6mm cooker cable

Kill 2 birds with one stone. However, I am just going to join with a cooker outlet plate and spur from a near by socket for the new plug. Thanks for all the replies.

    Fitting oven into tower cabinet

Hi We are having a Howdens kitchen fitted and have opted for built in oven and microwave combi. The depth of the cabinet from face to back panel is 500mm. 99% of the ovens I have been looking at state minimum 550mm. Is it just a case of cutting out the back panel? Thanks

    Extending 6mm cooker cable

Thank you Eric. Could I use a cooker isolation switch instead of an outlet plate as I also need a socket for the hob (ignition for the gas hob)?

Hi all Cooker circuit is 6mm twin and earth protected by a 32amp breaker. If I wanted to install an electric oven and microwave combi (both 16 amp), could I wire both into the same oven faceplate? Thanks
