Any issues mixing brands of control panel and PIRs?

Hi,

I have a Texecom Veritas R8 alarm with what I believe are the Texecom Reflex PIRs.
One of the sensors is broken and I have a Honeywell PIR to replace it. Both have 6 connections for the 6 core cable, however the Texecom has a tamper switch (a little spring), where as the Honeywell does not.

Can components from different brands be used together, assuming they are interchangeable?
