Baxi Bermuda Problems Getting Pilot Light Lit

Thanks. This Bermuda was originally in place in 1965 although I'm guessing has had most of its parts replaced. Reluctant to change it as in my particular situation, finding another location for a new boiler is a nightmare plus from what I've heard they don't last long. Have had various...

Baxi Bermuda Problems Getting Pilot Light Lit

That sounds great, thanks. He did also mention that it could be something more internal to the boiler too but can't remember what that was.

Baxi Bermuda Problems Getting Pilot Light Lit

Am finding that every year I get the service my gas safe engineer, he did finds it tricky to get the pilot light lit. It's a Baxi Bermuda which I know is old but actually runs well, so reluctant to change just yet. Have been told that the thermocouple or some other part might need changing...

    Gas Cooker Leaking

I have. They've arranged for someone to come this Thursday. However, when I spoke to him, he said that it's incredibly unlikely that the cooker itself is at fault. I had the bayonet fitting and all piping in that area replaced which I'm hoping has fixed the leak but the gas safe engineer was...

    Gas Cooker Leaking

Sorry, should have said. Called AO who put us in touch with Beko, who are sending a local engineer out to fix on Thursday as still under warranty. The gas safe engineer who did the checks after the fitting of the new bayonet said there was a smell of gas and that the drop was lower than he...

    Gas Cooker Leaking

Have been getting a slight smell of gas from around a Beko gas cooker which I only bought 10 months ago. Initially we thought it was coming from a poor horizontal bayonet fitting which I had fully replaced with a new vertical fitting. But when the gas safe engineer did the measurements...

Gas Cooker bayonet fitting Horizontal or Vertical

Yep, couldn't agree more. I'm not a gas engineer but seems fair to me. The usual gas engineer that does the yearly service and checks and fitted a cooker recently has never said a thing. Only got picked up yesterday by another gas safe engineer.

Gas Cooker bayonet fitting Horizontal or Vertical

This is what it looks like. Don't think it's illegal but probably not good practice. What do you reckon folks? Should I get it changed to vertical?

Gas Cooker bayonet fitting Horizontal or Vertical

I have a horizontal bayonet fitting for my gas cooker. Was told that these things are supposed to be vertical. Is that correct? Considering having the piping changed to make it vertical. Thanks

Fridge Freezer Frozen Puddle in Freezer Section

Actually, spoke too soon. Got the same problem a few weeks later. Have given the thing a clean out again but this time a massive defrost. If I start getting issues again I guess it's new fridge freezer time.

Fridge Freezer Frozen Puddle in Freezer Section

Quick reply to you all. Managed to clear the drain plug at the back above the tray. Works a treat now for well over a week without any issues. Previously, I was clearing out ice every day. Many thanks!

    Garden WiFi

I have a garden wifi booster built in to an outdoor socket. All was working fine last summer. It boosted the signal from the router (v1). Seen as v1 when connecting device via garden wifi. Since then I've installed a house booster in our hallway which comes up as v1_ext. When I now...

Fridge Freezer Frozen Puddle in Freezer Section

That would make sense as it does make crackling noises. Will take off that back inner plate and defrost. Makes sense.

Fridge Freezer Frozen Puddle in Freezer Section

Where would this be? Can't see any holes in the freezer section unless it's behind the screwed down rear panel. There are drainage holes in upper fridge section though. Could that affect things or are these compartments completely separate? Thanks

Fridge Freezer Frozen Puddle in Freezer Section

In the bottom of the freezer section, keep finding a puddle of frozen water. I scrape it out, only to find another puddle there the next day. Been going on for a couple of weeks now. Any ideas what th issue could be? Thanks
