Advice on unconventional heating arrangement needed

Our heating system is working perfectly, except that the Vaillant boiler has to modulate right down when only the underfloor heating manifold is being supplied. It needs water at 35°.This means the boiler is on for ages. It is annoyingly loud even at the minimum 4kW. I have suggested a revised...

I googled for: ceme 1.021715 and got this: https://www.247boilerparts.co.uk/alpha-3014379-1021715-low-water-pressure-switch-675-p.asp

Are MVHR's healthy, can mould/bacteria get into the pipes?

We have a Vent Axia unit which is very similar and have lived in this house since it was built in 2012. Initially I had similar concerns to you - but not now. The moist air is sucked up as you said but then expelled through the vents to the outside. It passes through a heat exchanger where it...

According to REHAU, the balancing and flow adjustment is done by turning the square headed screws under the thermoheads, not by turning the flow meters - see screenshot attached (which shows the manifold before the thermoheads are fitted.)

    Immersion heater - regular use

If you don't cook with gas you could have the gas cut off and save the standing charge, ie total gas account cost = £ 0 Roddy

Replacing OJ Electronics MTU2 Underfloor Heating Sensors

Our thermostats were made by OJ about 2010 and branded Rehau. They are a different style to yours but I suspect OJ use the same sort of mounting arrangement. The middle part simply pulls outwards - it's held in by friction. There is no latch to release or screw, etc. Of course I can't guarantee...

Replacing OJ Electronics MTU2 Underfloor Heating Sensors

I mean we have OJ controls in our house. Sorry about my ambiguity. Your reply from OJ does suggest it will be difficult to find replacements.

Replacing OJ Electronics MTU2 Underfloor Heating Sensors

Hello, We have OJ thermostats and controls. They simply pull out and off their backplate - but they are quite stiff. Here is a link to OJ: https://ojelectronics.com/floorheating/products/on-off-thermostat-mtu2/ Googling suggests they may still be available in Europe.

    gas heaters

Free standing heaters like these produce exhaust gases which must be allowed to escape by ventilation - which also allows your nicely heated air to escape. This is, in my opinion, a pretty poor arrangement, suitable only for very localised heating in a large workshop for example. Using one in a...

Black bits in bath from hot water tap and shower

We have an unvented system with expansion vessel. When the diaphragm died in the EV, exactly the kind of smeary, oily drops appeared - and were first noticed in the bath water.

Vibrating hot water return on indirect cylinder

We had a similar issue with our new Vaillant boiler which was a direct replacement for an older boiler which developed a leak in the heat exchanger. We also have a Gledhill tank. The noise was so bad I could feel it in the pipes and also on the boiler case. I was reluctant to leave the house...

    Brown water

Brown water from hot taps could be related to the expansion vessel if a pressurised system. Check if water comes out of the air top up valve.

Help, please, with intermittent loud droning Vaillant boiler which they can't fix - link to video

That's interesting, Ian, does that mean it can be upset by gusts of wind hitting it head on?

Help, please, with intermittent loud droning Vaillant boiler which they can't fix - link to video

There is only UFH. The noise is the same when only the tank is being heated without the UFH being on. Is it a coincidence that it has done this a few times today, the first day with blustery wind hitting the gable where the balanced flue exits?

Help, please, with intermittent loud droning Vaillant boiler which they can't fix - link to video

Can anyone identify the source of an intermittent loud droning noise from our Vaillant EcoTec Plus 612 boiler? Vaillant’s engineer came out but it didn’t happen that day! He did check the boiler through and found no faults. Before I ask a local repair man to have a look, I wonder if any of you...
