The only mention to fluing/ ventalation is "Use heater only in well-ventilated areas" and thats it! No mention of how much of a gap and where is needed

Is there any proper safety advice about on these types of heaters please?

Free standing heaters like these produce exhaust gases which must be allowed to escape by ventilation - which also allows your nicely heated air to escape. This is, in my opinion, a pretty poor arrangement, suitable only for very localised heating in a large workshop for example.

Using one in a house would very soon cause damp problems because moisture is a large part of the exhaust.

My mother used one in her house - I wouldn't have one in mine!

Calor Gas' Guide to these heaters just states to read the Manufacturer's Instruction Manual wrt ventilation requirements.

Min Room Size Requirements	82 m³ for living rooms / 41 m³ for other rooms with minimum ventilation of 103 cm² area
