    Joinery / Ironmongery Inspiration

Thanks, both good suggestions. I had seen things like that before but am ideally looking for something which blends in more - either with the desk or the wood cladding.

    Joinery / Ironmongery Inspiration

Hi All, I'm looking for some inspiration for how to bring cabling through or behind a (to be) built-in desk. The desk will be fixed to a wall consisting of vertical timber cladding attached to horizontal studs - so there will be a helpful void behind the cladding. I'd like to bring power & IT...

    Finishing small irregular wall area

For the sake of completeness... I ended up finding some old P82 2-part tiling primer in my garage and slapped that on to give a key & then carried on merrily with a couple of coats of easifill. It's been on a couple of months and is looking good so far (not painted yet). I guess it might not be...

    Finishing small irregular wall area

Thanks for the reply Fenny. I'm looking for a solid, not lined solution. I'm not actually that bothered about puncturing the membrane as it was only put on for "belt & braces" because it's a solid external wall.

Any suggestions? Or am I barking up completely the wrong tree? Adam

    Finishing small irregular wall area

Yes, keep the curved look. I'd actually done exactly as you suggest, but it took away too much space, and didn't quite look right. So on to plan B!

    Finishing small irregular wall area

Hi All, I've been boarding, taping & jointing a small room, using easifill for the jointing & filling. I'm pretty comfortable with that, but am wondering how to finish a small (~1m2) area of curved wall (see pics below). It's got a sand & cement finish, with some kind of tanking on top. What...

    Plasterboard finish to wood

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure I see how stop bead will help though. Are you suggesting I put it over the end of the board and then push that up to the wood? Is that any better than what I've got in the picture? There would still be a gap, which would be likely to crack in due course. I...

    Plasterboard finish to wood

Hi All, I'm dry-lining a wall & one end of it butts up to the back of a wooden (MDF) built-in bookcase (see pic). How can I finish the corner without it cracking after a while? I'd rather not use some kind of stick-on trim. On a normal internal corner I'd use tape but I can't here because I...

    Matching existing render

Cheers. There are no issues inside and I'm not too worried that it's a structural problem, but I suppose equally it would be nicer to fix now than if a big chunk falls off in the middle of winter! I'll have a think about it. Adam P.S. The timber in the picture is a bit of window frame I'm in...

    Matching existing render

Thanks both. It's external. There's no indication yet of any damp inside. You can see in the photos that I stuck some silicone in the cracks last summer, but the crack's got bigger since then. The paint is Weathershield, which has been there for at least 10 years. I've no idea what was there...

    Matching existing render

Hi, I have an area (about 1sqm) of blown render which I'd like to strip off and re-render. It's cement render on wooden laths. I'm fine with doing the rendering, but don't know how to match the existing texture, which is a kind of uneven pebble-dash. Any advice? Thanks,20180623_103809 by...
