It's possible it might have been a cat or cats, as we have two or three who wander around here, though they would be freezing cold tonight! My other half says she'll sleep easier in her bed tonight after I told her I was informed on here that it might well have been the freezing fog :lol:

Could freezing fog drifting across the pir sensor of a security light cause it to activate?:shock: It's been working perfectly up until tonight, when it has switched itself on twice when no animal or human has been anywhere near it but I did notice freezing fog drifting in front ot it!

I have read many posts on this forum about pins sticking on TRVs due to lack of maintenance and use. I would be grateful for advice as to what I should do about the TRVs on a system in an empty flat. The heating will not be on at all and I don't know whether I should close them or open...

Thank you kevplumb Funny you should say that. In the flat we have just moved from, the only TRV that went on the bum was the one that was very rarely turned on or off from one year to the next, believe it or not :o

Is it quite in order to use a TRV as an on/off valve to shut off a radiator in a bedroom during the day when it is not required or could this cause damage to it? Or is there another way I could do this? I don't see the point in heating an empty room for several hours a day :oops:

Would it be possible to use a 150W bulb in a 500W halogen pir security light, or would it just burn out?
