    Toilet and soil pipe confusion...

Yes it fits, this is why I got this space saving one because it was the only one that fits! It's a small bathroom and I got the smallest toilet I could

    Toilet and soil pipe confusion...

I see what you mean, I'll check tomorrow to make sure it's got a lip to stop it going to far, as you say it looks like it does

    What do you mean?

    Toilet and soil pipe confusion...

Yeah it will be plain at both ends, I shouldn't have bought it in the first place The pan connector is Mcalpine, they tend to be pretty good. It used to be a corner toilet hence the position of the hole in the wall. But I had endless problems with that corner toilet, I'll never go back...

    Toilet and soil pipe confusion...

I'm at the final stages of plumbing in my bathroom, I'm a beginner. As you can see in the photo I have this space saving pan connector, then I have a length of 110mm pipe. I didn't really need this as I'll box it in, and I had black 110mm anyway. Is this the correct way to do it? Pan...

    Basin and isolation valve issues...

If I used the current angled valves I have, it would be impossible to get to with anything. But I didn't know about tectite, thanks I'll have a look

    Basin and isolation valve issues...

I just found this, which looks ideal...it means I don't need tap tails so thats one less compression fitting to go wrong, and the flow is right so I can adjust from the bottom. Hopefully they are decent quality https://www.bes.co.uk/flat-faced-angled-isolation-valve-15mm-x-1-2-bsp-pm-23571/

    Basin and isolation valve issues...

Thanks for the info, that makes sense. So it shouldn't be an issue if I leave it all un-siliconed and the iso valves hidden. I probably will never use them, but its good to know they are there. If I can find some tomorrow that are non directional then maybe I'll buy them to make it easier. But...

    Basin and isolation valve issues...

Ok thats good to know, its pretty solid when just placed on top of each other. Even if water does drip down the front, I don't really see how silicone helps. It just stops it going through and running down the back. Either way it gets on to the floor! If thats the case, maybe I can live with...

    Basin and isolation valve issues...

Yeah I could do an elbow, but I don't have the equipment to solder copper, and push fit would be very ugly! I have the tap tails though :)

    Basin and isolation valve issues...

I'm just finishing up my bathroom. I'd planned to have right angle iso valves, but overlooked the fact the flathead bit to adjust them will be hidden behind the basin pedestal. I then thought I could use straight valves so I could adjust them from the side, but the Flexi pipes won't reach that...

    Can't score/snap tiles..Tile adhesive is going off!

Yeah I think I'll give the grinder a go. There will be a wooden detail at the door threshold too, so worst comes to worst I could have a very thin piece overlap the tiles to cover up imperfections. I'll see if there are any local tilers. I did similar thing recently and a carpenter from down...

    Can't score/snap tiles..Tile adhesive is going off!

Quite a few people in the reviews aging they got a pretty good cut with some file blades. I only have 5 tiles to cut. The grinder would be ideal as I have other jobs to use it for. But you got me worrying about chips now!

    Can't score/snap tiles..Tile adhesive is going off!

Hi mate yeah I saw that. There's one from Toolstation which everyone seems to say although not absolutely perfect it's near enough. Pretty good reviews and only a couple of quid extra. Have you seen it ...

    Can't score/snap tiles..Tile adhesive is going off!

Thanks for looking for me! I won't buy that cheap brand stuff, it breaks! But I think a grinder will be useful for other stuff, but I'll get a Makita or Bosch one. Will cost about £70 overall with tile blade. Can you get as nice an edge with the grinder as with a tile cutter?

    Can't score/snap tiles..Tile adhesive is going off!

Ah ok I thought they were ceramic. A grinder could be useful for other jobs, but grinder with tile blade will be £70, the tile cutter is £13. I'm so over budget!

Are the tiles I photographed porcelain? I thought they were ceramic but I threw the box away!

Thanks, yeah I chucked the adhesive. Hopefully I've got enough to do those last few tiles! I don't want to buy another bag

    Can't score/snap tiles..Tile adhesive is going off!

How do I know if they are ceramic, can you tell from the photo? A tool like this? https://www.screwfix.com/p/vitrex-manual-tile-cutter-330mm/37944 It's only a few tiles so I'd rather spend as little as possible

    Can't score/snap tiles..Tile adhesive is going off!

Hi, just doing my first tiling job. I have 5 tiles to cut in half for the end of the room. I tried scoring them with this little tool I got (photo attached) but then it's incredibly hard to snap and when I did it broke into many pieces Is this tool wrong? It worked on my thinner wall tiles ok...
