    Burning Shower Electrics

Cheers. I just wasn’t sure if it was the length of time it was now running that was the problem, or if it should be able to run for hours without issue.

    Burning Shower Electrics

Morning folks. Had a small ext done about 7 years ago which has a bathroom with an electric shower. Looking at the install certificate, the shower is on a 10mm cable. I think the shower is a 10.something kw. My eldest daughter has started using the shower and takes FOREVER. Once in the...

    Pressure Query

Low and behold, with the help of my kids metal detector, I found it buried under a conifer. Full of soil and stones. Now clear but it’s a tap and it’s seized. Will need to work on that.

    Pressure Query

That’s the challenge. The “street” is a private dirt track shared by the houses. It was recently resurfaced and there were no covers found when scraping down. It could be buried by my garden wall I guess. Time to get out searching.

    Pressure Query

Hi folks. Question about my mains water pressure. My neighbours either side of me (on a sloping track of 5 houses), have what I can only describe as phenomenal water pressure in their homes and garden taps. My water pressure is significantly lower than both of theirs which makes showering...

Render - Do I Need Mesh

Ok, got a flight of steps up to my house, about 7 steps. They are on a brick structure with one exposed wall of brickwork. This wall, plus the bricks on each step face, have blown, or at least many of them have. Once the loose bits are removed, what's left seems quite solid. But it's ugly...

    Creating level surface outside

Ah, ok, thanks for that. The descriptions on the products I had seen all suggested they weren't to be used as a final surface, hence the confusion. But of an external grade one will do the job then that's the route I'll go. Thanks again.

    Creating level surface outside

My daughter has asked if I can make her a space outside for her to practice basketball. The most sensible space I can see is a rarely used part of the drive which currently has chips on it but is actually a massive concrete slab underneath. I plan to remove the chips but I think the actual...

    Levelling Driveway

Yup, I'd agree with all of that. We aren't in a position to have it lifted and something more substantial put down, so I need to repair it as best I can and then, as you say, put a bit more effort into the maintenance of it.

    Levelling Driveway

Here you go. Hard to really show it, but the dark/dirty bits are the troughs. Only a few inches at the most, but because it's on a slope wheels are beginning to spin, making it worse.

    Levelling Driveway

Hey folks, after a quick bit of advice please. My sloping driveway, which is some form of hardcore base covered in red chips and over time some amount of finer material, like soil in parts. It is worn in places making it uneven and encouraging wear plus it needs a lot more red chips. I'd...

What hinge type for summerhouse door?

I'll try the straps as they seem like a cost effective option before I go getting tracks for the top.

What hinge type for summerhouse door?

Hi folks, been trying to keep myself busy rather than going mad while furloughed, and decided to convert our shed into a summerhouse for the family. Initially took one whole side off and levelled one side of the roof and left it open, which was nice until that spell of bad winds and rain came...

    Dereve Governor Regulator

To be fair yes, doing a test would be sensible. I could manage the flow rate but not a pressure test. No idea what it's set to, it's just a screw type. Just seems odd to be on the main to the whole house whereas everywhere else I've read people have them just before a cold tap or something...
