Filling gap above door lining on block wall

I do have loads, the wall is going to need a coat of hardwall, so lipping some 9.5mm plasterboard onto the wall all around, with some Sticks Like behind, would be easy. Thanks for that…. I’d not even considered it and it should be great for preventing cracking!

Filling gap above door lining on block wall

Hi all, I am fitting some door linings into openings that used to have external doors in them, and are about 100mm too tall. What's the best way to fill the gaps, and avoid cracking? I was thinking of fixing a piece of timber in to the lintel (Avoiding the lining), and plaster boarding or...

Where to get spare parts for Origin sliding door

Good morning all, We had a 3 panel sliding door fitted 18 months ago, by Origin. I hadn't specified, but had expected it would be openable from inside and outside. I was mistaken! I was quoted £400 to supply an extra lever, and an escutcheon for the outside. (Plus a longer spindle and a riv...

Using a Stihl saw indoors in occupied property

This did happen in January as planned. I built some trays from old ply, and 2x1 timbers around the edge. Then glued some plastic sheeting in. These were placed either side of the doors - the cutting guys looked confused, and said it was futile.... but actually we did OK! It caught 90% of the...

Correct inserts for plastic to copper?

I was told to use copper olives onto plastic pipe, as the brass ones are too hard and can cut into the pipe.

    Spares for Blanco kitchen tap

Hi all, I have a Blanco Cleo BM6100 kitchen tap. It needs a new gasket for between the tap and sink, and a new aerator for the end of the spout. I can find nothing online, anywhere! Not even Blanco's website knows about it. Just replacement cartridges. Can anyone suggest where to find...

Constant current LED driver pairing with LEDs

Thanks, this is very useful! I knew I was unsure, hence asking. The lamps are 700maA/ 3v (This is only written on the unit, not the boxes or data sheet so I had to go and re-check). I am not sure how to calculate the load to be honest, adding the mA values goes off the scale of the driver...

Constant current LED driver pairing with LEDs

Good evening all, I bought from a lighting designer a few circuits of fittings with drivers. According to the instructions, they are to be wired in series using the provided constant current driver Each lamp is 2.9v The driver is 72v The circuits each contain between 4 - 7 lamps, and each has...

    Changing the colour of LVT

It did, and a good few hours cleaning the boards (And floor, got through 10 6" scraper blades). 7 boxes laid, 1 of cuts, and 12 unopened boxes. I'm seriously hoping to sell it to recoup the £2000 in replacement!

    Changing the colour of LVT

Went with the only option.... tear it up and order the proper colour. Found a supplier with old stock. An expensive mistake.

    Changing the colour of LVT

I strongly suspect I know the answer here, but..... Some how, I ended up with half a house worth of LVT flooring in a tone of grey instead of a tone of brown. It's the correct style and size, just the wrong colour. And now it's 2/3 fitted. And the product has been sitting here for a year so...

    Plasterboarding steal beam

I used some Gypwall steel angles (Well, it was actually Knauf GA1), and screwed the plasterboard through (fine thread screws essential). Few spots of Sticks Like on the bottom of the steel, just to make sure it didn't move at all. Worked fine.
