Removing nut on old towel radiator

Hi “again again” Spoke too soon. We have a leak on the right valve. (Discharge) Picture attached. It’s emanating from the lower union, which I only secured while loosening/tightening the tail nuts. Have turned water off and run taps, but water obviously seeping from rad. What’s odd is a)...

Removing nut on old towel radiator

Hi again Sorry to revive this saga. Fitted new tails to new rad and set about fitting and connecting latter. First problem was bracket holes in wrong position on wall. Half expected that- old towel rad about 25 year’s old. Drilled two new holes, connected brackets but then ran into another...

Removing nut on old towel radiator

Thank you (for both suggestions). I’ve since got some movement, but only by bashing the other part of the L with a mini sledgehammer. However, worried this will knackered the thread. Also curious about behaviour of key in drill, as alluded to in my previous post. Moving on, the new TRV valves...

Removing nut on old towel radiator

Hi again Bought the above product from Screwfix. I’ve tried loosening the old ones, as needed the key anyway to tighten new tails purchased. I’ve inserted the 13mm into slot, and it fits snugly. However, I can’t budge the inserts. If I put key into drill, it just spins around? (Am going anti...

Reaching out for advice. We have these two borders around our patio. I had tried using chippings to fill the borders, but weeds still got through and it looked terrible. (Also used weed killer) I’ve now in process of removing the stones to try something else. (Images attached) Would you...

Hi Mother-in-law’s airing cupboard has a problem with the door. The front layer has gradually separated from the back. Door still on hinges but front sort of dangling. Would you use wood glue or nails to secure? Thanks

Any chance of removing snapped refill key from boiler?

Thanks. Oop in Yorkshire with outlaws at moment. Will try when I return. Am guessing water will spew out, as I turned key back to the default (locked position) before it snapped.

Any chance of removing snapped refill key from boiler?

Thanks. I used all manner of pliers, scissors, screws, drill bits etc. Out of interest, how did you manoeuvre the long nosed pliers to shift the broken key? (Also have screw extractors, so have those to try too) Regards

Any chance of removing snapped refill key from boiler?

Thanks. I’ve wiggled just about everything in the hole but no dice. How did you eventually remove with the pliers? Not sure they’re going to be any better than screws, drill bits and narrow pair of scissors already used?
