Is this in any way possible?!?

sorry yes that was confusing. What I meant was than further consideration string seems a rather outdated method in a modern bathroom

Is this in any way possible?!?

but not near the shower, surely, which is where most people would probably want it (including us! :))

Is this in any way possible?!?

I appreciate all the help so far. However we both dislike a bit of string dangling from the ceiling in a modern bathroom setting. Is there a modern equivalent that doesn't involve string?!

Is this in any way possible?!?

Would another (better?) Way to do it be to have a fan with a humidisat built into it, and have the green switched on all the time? That way as soon as someone stats a shower the fan will kick in and once the room is cleared enough it will just stop

Is this in any way possible?!?

Thanks guys. so the fact that the fan will run on for some time is down to the fact that it has an internal run-on time built in (I presume they can be adjusted?) I think I get it now. Thank you all for your help

Is this in any way possible?!?

I've never heard of a momentary/retractive switch - off to search for one....thanks so how would one be wired up to a fan, please?

Is this in any way possible?!?

SWMBO wants the shower room fan to come on by means of a pull switch, but to go off again after a set time (maybe 15 mins) if you forget to do it manually after showering. Then, the next person comes along and wishes to switch on the fan does so as normal (in other words the switch has reverted...

current thoughts on click vinyl planks

Cheaper than karndean, and easier to lay, but does it last in a bathroom? Also can heating mesh mats be used under it if I use SLC over play?

At the end of the CH FLow

I can see no mention of a requirement in the installer's guide, but I'll get one fitted anyway when I can. Thanks

At the end of the CH FLow

Thanks. Might the combi have one "internally" as it were....its a worcester bosch greenstar HE (an HE 30 if memory serves, though I'm not there right now)

At the end of the CH FLow

lol I agree its a mess - not guilty. We have a towel radiator in the bathroom which has no TRV on it and is never closed off, so won't that do as a means of ensuring the system flows?

At the end of the CH FLow

Thanks. This whole assembly is going. Might the rad have been fitted as a means of BEING the bypass valve? Or can I just remove it, connecting those spurs in some other way?

At the end of the CH FLow

Sorry if this is a thick question: I presume the end point of the CH flow pipe (the furthest point from the combi) is connected directly to the end of the return pipe? If so is this why I have a small radiator installed where the old hot tank was: to allow the system to still flow correctly...

    Adjusting front door

Hi I would like to adjust the front door so it is a little tighter to the door seal when closed, but just at the top. That is, adjust in the direction of the outside, if that makes sense I have allen screws top and bottom, plus pairs of smaller allen screws on either side. Which if these...

    Conservatory beyond hope?

Thanks. The black stuff is very sticky and feels like rubber that's degraded. Reluctant to take out a unit without being confident it will go back in! i'll look into the seals as a separate item online somewhere.

    Conservatory beyond hope?

Our connie is sturdy in its own right, but several of the dg units have failed. I am investigating whether I need to replace the whole thing or not. Setting aside the fact that its so old the panes are fitted from the outside (who ever thought THAT was a good idea?!?!?) I have the issue that I...

    Levelling socket faceplates

Despite my best efforts, somehow 2 back boxes in my newly plastered and decorated room are not level, to such an extent that the slight leeway the lugs give is not enough to make things right. I'm not saying the boxes are at like 45 degrees or something,! but a degree or two beyond the wiggle...

    Replacing conservatory roof

I fancy taking off the leaky, windy ply roof and building a timber and slate roof to replace it. I understand BC will want to be involved as there is insulation involved (as I understand it) but as a general point, will a seemingly sturdy connie be able to withstand the weight of such a roof...
