    Having DNO move incoming supply

Yeah, I suspect that might be the case.... in which case I cant do it. I know my current supply is fed from the house next door and is only buried about 8 inches under the lawn. Found this out to my detriment two weeks ago when digging a trench for a new water pipe and clipped the cable just...

    Having DNO move incoming supply

My consumer unit is in my garage and the incomer comes out if the floor directly below it, into the cut out. I would like to have the cable moved about 1.5 meters further along the wall to allow room for a new doorway. Would the DNO insist on digging up the concrete to move the cable under the...

    Knock through close to corner

The actual opening will be upto the inner leaf corner - I don't want the opening 'under' the inner leaf corner. However, there is a large concrete lintel holding the inner leaf up above the existing front door - this is sat on a small snib of wall that projects into the hallway..... see below...

    Knock through close to corner

Basically I'm seeing if it's possible to knock a ground floor doorway through a cavity wall at a t-junction in a porch. Having this extension built and want to knock through where the grey box is. This is an after thought and will speak to engineer, but just wanna see if it's feasible.?. Cost...

    Knock through close to corner

Can two pre cast concrete lintels be placed perpendicular to each other in perpendicular wall to allow for an opening below? Or would it have to be streal work bolted n welded at 90 degrees? Obviously the lintels in one wall would rest on top of the lintels that are perpendicular.

    New door opening width

Yeah it will be a fire door. My question is, can I get away with a 2 foot 6 opening - or does it have to be 2 feet 9 inches - as in new houses.

    New door opening width

I want to knock through from my hallway into my garage to create a new doorway into the garage. Can I still make it a 2' 6" doorway, or do I have to make it 2'9"? Space is at a premium and I think a 2'6" is doable, but ill struggle with 2'9"? Its part of an ongoing extension so BCO will...

    Beg, borrow or steal :-)

I really really really need about 2 inches of 28mm copper pipe...... its to join two compression fittings together....... I don't want to buy a 3 meter length, for 2 inches, cos I won't use it. Is there anyone around Manchester area that might have a little bit knocking about that I could...

    Weird compression fitting

I need to reduce 35 mm mdpe down to 28mm. I've seen these fittings but no idea how they work....... there doesn't appear to be any threads, so I assume they are not typical compression fittings. Anyone know how to use them? I can't fit one of the ridiculous Speedit reducers cos they're the...
