Any Excel and OneDrive experts out there?

In my camera club we have several members who need access to member details, such as email addresses. My instinct is to have one list, maintained by one person, to which others get access. A OneDrive cloud account, to which they all have access, seemed to be the sort of thing we'd need. In my...

    Repair fine cracks in render

Before I paint the house I need to disguise these hairline cracks in the render. Best way to do so please? Scrape out and use a sealant of some description?

    Finally.......lintel solution for my windows.....

Yes, they need to be up-front about it. I always am. Oh, and I always turn up when I say I will. Its not rocket science, this self-employed lark.

    Bad patio

If your patio does not run drain back to the house you've wasted your time and putting a drain in. Note that this 6" rule only applies to new builds (or it did, when I was still landscaping). There is no rule that says you can't lay a patio up to the roof, if that's what you wish to do! (slight...

    Finally.......lintel solution for my windows.....

OP, please dont get annoyed with a tradesman if they have easier work that could do instead of yours.....why would YOU choose a more stressful task at work if you didn't have to? I do agree, though, that many trades people are very poor communicators, and don't have the courtesy to turn work...

    Driving Without PAS fluid

My power steering system has developed a pinhole leak in a steel pipe, so the reservoir empties in a couple of minutes. I have to get to work this week and the garage cant look at it for a week. Is it going to damage the engine in some way of I just carry on with heavy steering? Its a Freelander...

What fixings for a kitchen wall cupboard?

yes I'd second getting those long hanging rails...makes life 300% easier (or more!) https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=cabinet+hanging+rail You can then find a stud (sounds like what you have) to screw them to. Will that do it?

Skirting - cutting bay window angles?

take a look on youtube - there's loads of videos on there showing how to do it. You can measure those angles, if you have a gauge, or you can use two bits of wood to mark the angle directly, then divide the result by two as you have described. Just get some of that wood filler to hand.

    What holds conservatory roofs down?

Thanks. I'll nip up on a ladder and take a look at what I could screw into

    What holds conservatory roofs down?

We have an old-ish cons on our house, not installed by us. When its windy (we live on Anglesey, so windy quite often) the roof panels flap about along their bottom edges, emitting loud farty noises and letting in a lot of cold air. They seem to rely on being stuck down by gravity, so last year...

    No-fines home - insulating

I do wonder why OP has asked the question.....you seem wedded to the idea of battens even though you have had plenty of advice to the contrary! :) Either way good luck and show us pics of the results.

    Attaching Bidet to commercial toilet

I'm truly astonished that people still use bidets......sorry to be coarse, but the advent of daily showers years ago (for most normal people) surely means they are redundant? Maybe its just me :)

What to do with my windy floor space

There's simply no access anywhere near the cavities due to the construction. No bats. Slates all have what appears to be paper bags, filled with shredded card or brown paper, stapled to the rafters under the slates, some of which have fallen off or are in the process thereof. Not sure what they...

What to do with my windy floor space

Thanks for the advice. I'd prefer to cut off the wind at source (ie prevent it getting into the cavities) but I cant get to them in the loft due to the slope of the roof. Is it usual to leave the topes of the cavities open like this? My loft is pretty windy due to the wind getting between the...

Evidence that extra loft insulation does anything

I'm intrigued as to the effectiveness of loft insulation. To get straight to the point, I'm not convinced that some woolly glass fibre resting on plastered plasterboard (which must itself be a pretty good insulator) should make much of a difference. Therefore, to add layer-upon layer of extra...
