Are all solvent free grab adhesives created equal?

I have a drill, but there are network cables behind the skirting which is pre-primed and purpose built for cabling.

Are all solvent free grab adhesives created equal?

Hello all. So I'm currently using Grip Fill solvent free gab adhesive at £2.79 a tube to stick some skirting in the rooms. Can I use the cheaper no nonsense brand (£2 a tube) or is GripFill longer lasting? I'll need about 20 more tubes. Thanks.

Is this insulating cover cut too short in these spotlights?

It's for a kitchen, and I need 9. Previously, there was only one light in the kitchen The installer did this circuit (for some reason): Any suggestions for decent downlight fittings if I decided to replace them all please? Thanks.

Is this insulating cover cut too short in these spotlights?

I thought as much. That'll teach me for buying from B and Q out of convenience.

Is this insulating cover cut too short in these spotlights?

Hi all. An electrician came and stated that the inner live and neutral cables should not be seen and they should be covered by either the outside grey cover, or the black box. There is not enough space for the thickness of all cables. Is this a design flaw from the manufacturer? Also, there is...

    Is this plasterboard or asbestos?

lol Thanks, I certainly won't try that! I have tried testing kits but obviously we would like to continue the job if other people know by the information above.

    Is this plasterboard or asbestos?

Hi all. My builder is renovating my cloakroom in my 1980's house. The ceiling was previously plastered over in a recent job (he wasn't sure if it was asbestos or not) but it was not finished properly so a new builder suggested that (from an air vent) it looked like plasterboard and not asbestos...

    Kitchen waste overflowing into garden

OMG you are right. I am so ******* annoyed. I specifically chose an accredited boiler installer from the Worcester Bosch website so I could get a good job on the boiler. I called Worcester Bosch to call about a different issue I had with the installers (boiler is 15 months old, and it looks...

    Kitchen waste overflowing into garden

There is a pipe that goes from the boiler directly out of the property. I think that is called the condensate. The dark (dirty) pipe you see up there in the photos is for the washing machine (none connected at the moment). Do I still need a gas safe plumber or can any plumber fix this? Thanks.

    Kitchen waste overflowing into garden

OK update. I used a rag to take out all the water I could (seemed to go on forever) but the blockage must have been around a corner at the bottom because it was dry when i was done and couldn't feel anything, and the next day it was overflowing again. So I signed up with homeserve for £6 a...

Looking for finished wood for custom wardrobe

I'm gonna be honest, I didn't realise B and Q did "White Fully edged Chipboard Furniture board". I was thinking of buying that and cutting to size but yes, I could cut taller wardrobes, I dunno why I never thought of that. Thanks. I don't see how it would be cheaper than the B&Q material...

Looking for finished wood for custom wardrobe

Something I don't have to paint. I don't want pure sheets of MDF, for example. I do want doors, but to be honest, I reckon I can get doors from anywhere as long as I have a standard-ish size

Looking for finished wood for custom wardrobe

Hello. I hope you're all keeping safe and well. So basically, I'm looking to have a wardrobe frame that is 200cm wide by 230 cm tall. The floor to ceiling measurement is 233cm. I can get close to what I want from Ikea for £400 but I have a few issues with it: 1-They only do heights of 220...

Worcester boiler not heating tap consistently Error 276

Thanks. All done under warranty. For those that see this in future, the problem was the heat exchanger plate. Full of brown contamination. The (accredited) installer didn't flush the system properly. Good job I'm changing all rads.

Worcester boiler not heating tap consistently Error 276

Hello. I hope you're all keeping safe and well. My boiler (greenstar 30i) is no longer heating the taps (upstairs nor downstairs) at a consistent level. It's very hot for a second then cold and sometimes lukewarm. More often than not, it's cold. It is displaying error 276 flow sensor fault but...

New radiator valve too far to reach inlet

I've bent it and everything works now, thanks. The only issue I have now is that I get little bangs and squeaks every now and then from the pipes expanding/contracting in the tight space :(

    New radiator too wide

Thanks all. I bought a smaller radiator and attached it along with telescopic radiator valve extensions. No leaks now.

    New radiator too wide

Hi all. I swapped an old single wall for a double wall radiator. I read that you measure radiators from the side, not the valves. I could have sworn that it was 1200mm (it certainly was not 1149mm) but the new one is also 1200mm but obviously looks too large. The valves that came with the...
