    Fitting new soffits and facias

Hi Can anyone give me a rough idea how difficult it would be to replace my old wooden soffits and facias for new PVC ones? Ive had a few quotes but at the minute I havent got that sort of money to spare. Ive done pretty much all the work in my house myself from building walls, fitting new...

    Hive bulbs for soffits

Ive seen a couple of comments on various websites that these are not rated for outside use in soffits, also as theyre outside the wifi signal might be a bit weak. Although I have a Hive outdoor camera which works fine. I just thought they would be an easier option than a dusk to dawn sensor...

    Hive bulbs for soffits

Hi I am finally going to fit soffit downlighters in my bungalow. Im thinking about either a sealed unit, & a dusk to dawn sensor, or was wondering if I could fit Hive GU10 bulbs & be able to control the lights from my phone. Is this a viable option?

    Removing moss from bungalow roof

I have a fair bit of moss on my roof that I would like rid of. The roof tiles are concrete (I think). Do you think its safe for me to get up on the roof to scrape the moss off? I noticed my neighbour across the road doing his but his tiles look different to mine.

Changing 2 way switching back to normal

Currently they are both one gang, but when I switch any switch on, both lights come on. All I want is each switch to operate one light only. The front door switch to operate the front door end only, and the far end switch to operate the far end only

Changing 2 way switching back to normal

Well one light is at front door and the other is up other end round the corner, right next to my little boys bedroom. Its just a pain in the darker nights when I put the light on when I answer the front door, but it lights up the whole hall way at other end too.

Changing 2 way switching back to normal

I have 2 ceiling lights in my hallway, one at each end. These are worked by a switch, also at each end, which switches on/off both lights at the same time. What would I need to do to make each light work separate with each separate switch, i.e. switch 1 only switches on/off light 1, and switch 2...

    Soffit Lights

I am hopefully going to fit soffit downlighter before the darker nights come. When feeding the wires through, going from light to light, can I just push them along & fish out & next hole or will there be roof joists that I might hit? Would it be easier doing it from the loft side?

    Fitting a shower pump

Hi I would like to fit a shower pump for my bathroom shower which is gravity fed. I live in a bungalow & the supply to the shower comes down from the loft. The hot pipe comes from the hot tank in the airing cupboard, goes up through loft, along then back down to shower. The cold pipe comes...

Just been in loft and forgot my phone! Its a metal barrel coming through the tank with the arm held on with a split pin. Very basic. Ive bent it down as best I could but its solid and hard to bend. Its stopped it trickling out so Ill keep an eye on it
