    Creating run off with firrings

Hi, I have a flat roof space of 6.4m x 4.9m but the 6.4m is only a small space the majority is a 5m space. Would it be ok to add the firrings in the little space (which wont run the full length) the same as the other space and the water will find a run? The run will be down towards the 4.9m...

Radon\plastic membrane on top of Celotex

Hi, Currently working on a rear extension which was previously a conservatory slab base. Scrabbling the top I discovered it had 130mm of Celotex in which is good stuff. Accidently took a lump out of a clay soil pipe....

Thanks on the case with the parts and shouldn't take long to sort. Why is there big money in groundworks - because of the time and tools it takes?

Accidently took a lump out of a clay soil pipe....

Thanks for the info now all I need to find is some soil pipe 3 meters is a bit extreme for what I need. I took a picture showing just how poorly these pipes were connected. Im also thinking its only serving a gutter but links into the main sewer as a shared service - is that possible?

Accidently took a lump out of a clay soil pipe....

Hi, I revealed a good 2 meters of a soil pipe as part of an extension footings dig and accidently broke a bit out of the clay public soil pipe which comes across our garden. Its right on the connection of 2 pipes and from what I can see it was almost butted up against each other rather than...

    Raising older larger style manholes

Ive just lifted the cover and your right its seems relatively easy to add some blocks to raise it and then replace with one of the newer\lighter covers. This might sound like a stupid question but what sort of blocks would you use to raise the manhole cover? Ive got some spare driveway blocks...

    Raising older larger style manholes

Thanks Chris Im no builder so my brickwork might need some practice will have a go and see what happens. Im guessing there are no issues with doing this as this drain is for soil waste (the round is rain etc) not sure what the technical terms for these are

Hi guys, Im looking to tidy up a bit of boxing Ive had in the bathroom with tiles. As I understand it you shouldn't use PVA prior to tiling and after some googeling it seems sbr is the adhesive to use. Not to be a tight @ss but could anyone recommend a solution from Screwfix or Toolstation...
