    Building Close To Boundry ??

They do lots of colours and different textures, so they don't look like an industrial unit ! (and I aint got shares in them) In the picture above it doesn't look 5m wide, but it is (and the garage and drive aren't finished either). The garage is 6m wide internal. Some GRP doors (such as...

    Building Close To Boundry ??

Had my garage built recently, 9" turbo blocks. I can highly recommend a roller shutter door, I opted for remote control. This company in the Midlands will come out to measure it and within two weeks, come and fit it ! Superb ! They fit inside the frame so you lose none of the...

    Garden retainer wall

OK, just found a post on here stating the height should be 3 to 4 times the thickness, so a 9" double brick should be ok for 3' height. Still need advice on footings depth and drainage/waterproofing thanks As you can see, there will be a fair amount of back-fill to bring it level...

    Garden retainer wall

Ground level for the side of my house is about 1m below the pavement level. There was no original retainer wall, the soil level started at 3ft and feathered down to virtually nothing over 10ft. I want to reclaim some garden back and want to build a wall about a 3ft high, 4ft from the boundary...

Taking off a layer of concrete

Was thinking of a screed, as the floor slopes the wrong way too !(font to back) !! and if, as they appear to be able now, go to a feather edge without breaking up, may just be the business !!! Anyone tackled a 42sq/m (6x7) floor with a screed ??

Taking off a layer of concrete

Garage has been built, but the builders used the garage floor to knock up the render for the walls - so i need a way to get the sh*t of the floor ? tried one of those Bosch electric scrapers but the floor area is 42 sq/m !!! need some kind of industrial sander ? or something to take...

    Home Office wiring

standard telephone cable is twisted pair too. Category 5 cable differs from "telephone" cable. The combination of twists, which minimizes interference between pairs is different. There are also differences in the dielectric coefficients and other physical characteristics of the materials used...

Timed towel rail and fan heater...

The timer will be placed at light-switch height at the bathroom door, so a quick press of the button sets off the heater and towel rail, it's not an automatic timer, needs a manual press of the button, just as you go to have a shower. In fact, i'll probably replace the one shown above as 1/2...

Timed towel rail and fan heater...

It's a loft conversion, bedroom/bathroom. having all these switch plates and FCU's on the same wall will make it look unsightly, as its part of the bedroom wall. I also have a D/P sower and a T/P fan isolation switched to fit. Ideally i'd like to utilise the FCU's in the bathroom as both a...

Timed towel rail and fan heater...

What i'm proposing to do is hit one button on a timer, which will turn on a heated towel rail and fan-heater for a pre-set time. I'm thinking, take a 2.5mm spur from an RCD protected ring to a switched FCU then into the timer..... then take two 1.5mm feeds from the load side of...
