I need to replace an outside junction/joint, see attached pic. It connects what looks like 15mm (?) armoured black cable running under our drive to split to feed an electric gate, then continue to feed the garage. Access from above is very difficult as it's a floored loft with loads of stuff in it! So if the switch on the floor of the dud light is broke, would that mean no power in the flex?

The new lamp has it's own metal rose with only connections for live and neutral so the original rose would look more 'funny' if it were next to it, well, IMO!

Thanks :) - the caravan has the correct hook up socket and it's own RCD with 2 MCB's in it. So now you know what I mean (sorry if I confooosed!), the armour cable is still a no no?

Thanks for the links but I think my question is being slightly misunderstood. It's not for a campsite - I have that cable. It's for literally running to my garage so can be used at home. And if a 2.5kw (or thinking about it, maybe actually less than that as that's overkill - maybe a 1.5kw)...

There's barely 2mm of the chuck proud of the end as it;s got a large bit in but I'll give it a go.

I have this drill and the end will not undo to change the bit. the drill works perfectly both directions, the clutch is fine, but I just cannot undo it, it's as if it's done up too tight, and will not break free. Any ideas, take it apart? Is it repairable?
