Boiler constantly turning on and off

Both are roasting hot. One perhaps hotter than the other, but not by a lot. Can't touch them for more than a second each. Pump is definitely the right way round. All rads are now open. One still not getting hot though. Boiler still on and off for similar time periods.

Boiler constantly turning on and off

It was X400. Went through the receipts. It's slightly brown. Leaves the toilet paper a faint yellowish colour. When I drained the system the very first time, it was black. But the second time it started to come through quite clear. This time it was grubbier than last time. So dirtier, after...

Boiler constantly turning on and off

I posted about this some months ago so apologies if it's a bit of a repeat, but I've got updates. Basically, I have a Potterton Suprima, small tank in the loft F&E, hot water tank upstairs in airing cupboard. Bought the house 9 months ago and I turned the gas off straight off and the...

    Bathroom woodwork

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I need to make a tiled 'shelf' at the end of the bath to the wall. On top of the wooden frame I'll lay hardibacker then tile. Does that wood need to be a certain type and/or treated? Then I want to put a t&g panel all along under the bath to the opposite wall...

    Bathroom woodwork

The little shelf will be tiled on to hardibacker. Then the bath panel will run underneat from the end of the shelf to the other end of the bath in T&G.

    Improving shed security

I want to make my shed more secure as at the moment you could unscrew the hignes and take the doors clean off. Would take all of 30 seconds too. I'm installing a PIR light in the garden, but what can I do to improve the shed security, if not to deter at least to make it more difficult for...

    Bathroom woodwork

I need to make a small tiled shelf at the end of the bath tub, as well as a bath panel that I would like to be tongue and groove. Is there any particular wood I should be using? And should it need any sort of treating? Thanks

    Swapping side hinges are on

Am refurbing my bathroom and I want the door to open the other way now. What's the easiest method to make good the hinge and latch holes on the frame. It will be painted white when good if that makes any difference! Thanks

    Tiling around vanity unit/sink

Ok so I have a vanity unit to put in my bathroom. It is 600m wide and the part of the wall it's going up against is also 600m wide. On the left where the two walls meet, I'll be tiling down the side of the unit so the door can open properly. Measurements are fine as tiles will go on another wall...

    marks on tiles

It's definitely on the tiles? Not a reflection of dirt/streaks on the window? :?

    No adhesive?

    Tiling on to ply

Yes sorry, that's exactly what it is. For the waste pipes going down and under the house. Is there any way I can reinforce it without removing it? If I placed hardiebacker on it? Would that help it at all? :?

    Tiling on to ply

No, it's only 6mm. :? And there are no joints except the outside corner. Just big long sheets. Doesn't appear to have any 'noggins' in it either. Could this be a problem with the weight of the tiles?

    Tiling on to ply

I have plywood in the corner of my bathroom (floor to ceiling) that hides the waste pipes. Against this I will be putting the sink/vanity unit. Can I tile straight on to it as it won't be getting wet, or shouldn't be anyway? I'll be using BAL max flex adhesive if that helps at all. If not...

    Boiler is driving me crazy

Could that be a potential reason why the kitchen hot tap doesn't have great pressure?
