    Fitting blind

Thanks Ken. Yes there were timbers in the web but not on the underside of the RSJ. As far as I’m aware the Plasterer’s used plasterboard adhesive to fit the two skins of blue boards to the underside of the RSJ.

    Fitting blind

I need to fit a blind above a set of bi-fold doors where there is an RSJ and two layers of blue plasterboard. Would you aim to get a fix into the RSJ or settle for the PB’s? Thanks

    Fence repairs

True. Makes it more difficult to paint in 5 years time though if both sides have horizontal timbers. Which nails does everyone recommend for fence repairs? Thanks

    Fence repairs

Yeah they are pre made panels. The only problem with adding timber to the plain side it that it face an alley way so I don’t want to make it any easier for people to climb over. What sort of timber and nails would you guys suggest to do the repairs and patching up? Thanks

    Fence repairs

Thanks John, As mentioned, I don't have wooden posts so that's not the issue. They haven't rotted they have just warped and broken in winds etc. A few new bits of timber, some nails and a good paint should sort them for a good few years. If anyone could advise me on what timer and nails I can...

    Fence repairs

I've got 20 fence panels that I need to paint and make a few repairs to. Sadly the previous owners installed cheap fences between the concrete posts but they are still in average condition. A few questions... Is it just treated timber that I should be using on them and then painting them with...

    Bi-fold doors onto patio

Yes, good points about litter blowing in. woody, yes, I agree that the cill would need removing in this instance. Just trying to work out how I can have the patio built up to the doors though without causing a drainage/damp issue. I've now got a price for the drainage system I originally...

    Bi-fold doors onto patio

Hi, I want this doing properly so wanted your advice please. I’m having my patio taken into the same level as the inside of the house and I’m having new bi-fold doors installed. I’ve seen that some people set an ACO drain against the house and the cull of the doors runs straight into the ACO...

    Nightmare Patio

Yeah I guess that’s a downside. As ours has a pretty patio outside we should be ok with that.

    Nightmare Patio

Landscape gardener contractor you mean? The reason for asking on here is that I can’t find anyone local who is able to advise correctly. This is the reason the last guy promised the world has left it in such a state. If things were as simple as paying someone to do a proper and quality job...

    Bi-fold Door Cill

Thanks. So the cill is kept as normal and not changed. You just run a specialist type of ACO drain along the front edge of the aluminum front of the bi-fold doors? If you have any examples I'd really appreciate it please. I was originally under the impression that the patio HAD to be 2 bricks...

    Bi-fold Door Cill

We are looking to rework our existing patio and would love to achieve the same ground level between the inside of our house and the outside. Is it possible to chop out under our existing bi fold doors, remove the cill and replace with one which would allow for the new patio? Is it a French...

    Nightmare Patio

To cut a long story short... the patio that we've had redone (and spent a lot of money on) the builder has laid wrong. Lots of good points but fundamentally, he's not used the Bradstone Slurry Primer that we bought on the backs for the Porcelain slabs when laying them and therefore they are all...

    Underlay for Wet UFH System

I was advised to use this underlay https://www.wundatrade.co.uk/shop/tools-accessories-2/3mm-breathable-underlay/# before having my engineered wood floor fitted. Now it's been done it feels awful under foot and I'm really disappointing that they sold me it. I was expecting that the finished...

    Fixing this art desk

Any ideas or suggestions how to fix where this nut has ripped out of the wood? It’s only a kids art desk so won’t have much weight bearing. Photos attached. Thanks for any help/suggestions you have.

    Obligation for signing off

He says that what has been done needs paying for. Hasn’t said that he will provide the certificates but I’ve asked and he hasn’t said. My guess is he won’t.
