    Thats very true but I do enjoy having the right tools for the job. My hammer drill isnt exactly a gem (a JCB) so one that could replace that aswell would be good. My folks have offered to buy one as a bday present so it isnt actually costing my anything.

    Im no expert but afaik the water companys dont turn down the pressure in winter. The reason your hot comes out slower in the winter is the boiler is having to raise the temperature from a colder starting temperature to reach the desired temperature
