    Best plastic pipe for CH

Thanks for that. I only need about 10M or so of the pipe, so I'm gonna see if it's cheaper just to buy a few 3m lengths. I have heard so many things about different plastic pipe that I thought it would be best to ask here what is the best bet for CH.

    Best plastic pipe for CH

Thanks GM. I suppose I worded my post a little unclear. The point were I am going to be rerouting the pipework is 3M away from the boiler. Up to that point is indeed 22mm copper.

    Best plastic pipe for CH

Hi, what would you pro's recommend as the best type of plastic pipe for CH systems ? It needs to be fitted into the 22mm feed and return pipes from the boiler so I can reroute these pipes to avoid the new stud wall I am building. It's about 3M away from the boiler so I'm presuming it is safe to...

    Hi vis

The only situation I know of where I have had to wear orange is ( as FingRinal says ) on the railways. Yellow should be fine everywhere else. I have seen some guys on sites wearing orange as well, so I can't see most site gaffers being too worried about it. The most important thing we have to...

black sticky tar from service head

Hehe, forgot to add, if you need the head moving AND you get a decent Jointer, mebbe he could be persuaded to move it for you at the same time ?

black sticky tar from service head

Hi Katron, I had the same problem. Loads of bitumen leaking out of the old cutout. When I rang the dno, the girl I spoke to said that they have to replace those foc as a matter of course, because they are cast metal and all the cutouts are now supposed to be plastic. As JohnD said, I would...

    motorcycle forum

Hiya Jockspark, there are loads of specific bike forums kicking about, also general biking boards if you look. Two that I generally frequent are bigbikeworld and the kwak owners club Waddya riding atm ?

    How much does it cost.....

Cheers Click, I didn't believe it would be that easy to work out what with all the conversion figures etc etc that seem to be applied to electricity usage. Cheers Rocky. With the heating up the spout atm, I'm using one of these to just keep the chill off in the front room. Seems to be...

    How much does it cost.....

To run a 2KW Fan heater ? Can anybody point me to a table(s) that can give a rough estimate of how much these things cost to run ? Or at least tell me how many units they use/hr etc etc ? Thanks as always

    Rcd's

It's not that I didn't appreciate the difference Cremeegg, it's just that I knew an mcb tripped on overcurrent & wasn't sure how the rcd did it's job. I suppose, in retrospect, I should have checked the wiki  I have remembered to check it for some of my questions before I ask them but I...

    Rcd's

Just exactly what fault condition will trip them ? I know that mcb's are there for overload protection but seeing as the rcd doesn't have an earth connection, what sort of fault will cause them to operate ? I know that they are installed to help against electric shock but just how do they do...

Would this make supplementary bonding easier ?

Hmmmm, neat idea John - and easy to do. Yeah, I can agree with that, I've got a fair bit of ply left from shelving the new van out, so I'll use a bit of that. Finally, Supplementary bonding is 4mm earth wire isn't it ? And am I right that this work isn't notifiable, so I can get on and do...

Would this make supplementary bonding easier ?

Lol  I guess there speaks the voice of experience. There won't be any chance of that though John, coz the lobby is only about 5' by 2-1/2'. All I'm gonna do there is screw the hatch back down again and fit cheap carpet tiles. With it being the main access for the backway, it gets loppered...

Would this make supplementary bonding easier ?

Found a small hatch in the lobby area of the extension, between the Kitchen/Bathroom. Underneath it is this :- It appears that four of the cold water supplies in the bathroom ( Cistern, Bath, Basin & Shower are connected via these gate valves. Could I use this arrangement as a connection...

    Would this be OK ?

That's what I am planning to do Adam. Why would this work affect the CU ? Thanks BAS, I wasn't 100% certain about this - now I am :) Does this require a particular plug to be affixed to the Fridge & Freezer then, or is it just a visual difference ? Thanks guys

    Would this be OK ?

I like the idea of that BAS, it seems like the cable is actually in plastic trunking and there is some "give", so hopefully it'll re-cable. So if I follow the above idea, I would be re-siting the fcu ABOVE the worktop, ( via the Ring Cabling ) near the fan and connecting the fan via a piece...

    Would this be OK ?

Thanks BAS but it appears that I need a new Cable Tracer coz I didn't pick-up on the correct cable route  as you will see below :- You know what women are like, you move summat, they see the accumulated dust etc and decide that they want to have a quick clean round. So, I...
