    Shower tray problems

If the tray is level all ways and has been installed as per manufacturers specs then I genuinely believe you have a case against Mira. Provided the wall Panels aren't holding water and releasing it. Just for info, yes the Ply Panel (Mermaid Etc) do expand when wet.

Water seeping through kitchen floor tiles at night

If you are testing the main for leaks then it's best to shut it off outside as the leak might well be on the incoming main before your inside stopock. If you have a water meter fitted you can easily check for leaks by not using any water and checking the water meter for movement. Same as...

Removing tiles from paramount plasterboard wall

Same as a stud wall, hammer a line of holes and create sections to pull off.

    Question for the professionals

The more tiling I do, the less money I earn. It's not a particularly well paid profession. Drill bits........yeah, great comment, I bet you're laughing all the way to the bank...........Errrrrrrrrr :)

    Tiling up to edging strip

Are the tiles porcelain? If so, see what the external corner looks like by just laying a tile straight over.....

Removing tiles from paramount plasterboard wall

It's actually a straightforward repair, it takes a bit of common sense getting the levels right, in particular on the door wall, due to door liner. The rest is a breeze.

    porcelain tile drill bits

Proper solid Porcelain cannot be touched by the El cheopo spear shaped tile and glass bits, even if you start small and water cool, you would need 4 bits per hole. Even the marcrist Spear type which cost about £20 a pop struggle with good porc, in fact so do the Armeg.

    porcelain tile drill bits

Richon tools 365 Drills or whatever they are called are much more expensive. Import them directly from Honk Kong yourself via Richon, i have been using them for years. http://richontools.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1 All currency is in USD but don't worry you can still buy no...

Tanking / Kerdi on Concrete Board

I seem to get all the jobs that nobody else wants to do. I just finished a job with 1000mm x 1200mm quartz tiles with broken glass in, so heavy that they need mechanical fixing which required the biscuit to have a small cut done by a tool and discs imported from Hong Kong. I've only just got...

    Stopcock

I've not come across one that comes off easily, even a brand spanking new stopcock can be very tight to undo. Personally i would butcher the cupboard slightly more and do a proper replacement.

Tanking / Kerdi on Concrete Board

I'm very busy at the moment, no time for these forums, no idea where the other place is? It's been that long. With regard to Metres squared that I do per month, the less i do, the more money i get, I'm sure you understand if you know the line of work i'm in ;)

Leaky compression joints - which jointing compound?

He didn't use push fits, he used compressions....... I'm not sure if there is a compound available for plastic, most people would use PTFE around the Olive but as it's a DIY site, best pop it round the thread as it looks nicer.

    Geberit WC Frame

I'm going back there tomorrow and that's what i think i will do, it kind of defeats the object of having a frame if i'm honest, they are so simple to fit when the soil fittings are clamped in, I'll try to get a mirror down the hole too to see if my 4" pipe is def clear.

    Geberit WC Frame

It has a brand spanking new vent pipe funnily enough as i had to cut the old one out to re do the branch, only a 84mm? vent the old Osma 3" stuff anyway. I'm 95% sure the Vertical stack is clear, unless of course i left a rubble sack in the pipe which i'm 99% sure i would've checked :P I...

Tanking / Kerdi on Concrete Board

Epoxy grout  A standard grout will be fine, Kerdi is one of the best tanking systems available, Aquapanel is also a good idea especially for heavy tiles but i would still pop a tanking membrane on 1m from tray- belt and braces.

Removing tiles from paramount plasterboard wall

I must've done about 20 or so bathrooms with paramount board or other similar variants. It's not really too difficult to overcome the problem, you just need timber the same size or very similar to the existing middle sections of timber in the walls. I tend to rip the single or double sheet of...

    Geberit WC Frame

...Installed with a Utopia Wall mounted WC. WC drains pretty slowly, bowl fills up half way then drains. The distance from soil stack to Pan is about 1500mm, pipe is straight but has a slight offset in it created by a flexible pan connector then straight onto the WC frame elbow. It's...

    Wetroom floor advice please

Marmox do two different types of dec, an extruded foam type and another resin type. Both work fine with a 2" tile but with reference to the extruded foam type, 2" is a minimum tile size due to point loading. With regard to the tanking, take a look at what marmox suggests, the last time I...
