The big question is, is there enough capacity in the National Grid to supply all the 7Kw needed to charge every ones EV. My house is in a block of 6 houses, one resident has no car all the other families have two cars each, that could in theory require an extra 70Kw pulled from the local...

    PAXTON DOOR ENTRY- POWER SUPPLY.

Has any one tried repairing a Paxton Net 2 Door entry system 12V power supply, model number 411-501. They all seem to suffer with the same dead fault, no 12V out put. When defective they still have HT on the smoothing cap and the collector of the chopper transistor. I notice two small 4 pin...

    Russ Andrews super Fuse !!

The debate is their claim that a different fuse in the 13 Amp attached to the Audio equipment can improve the sound quality , a claim which I think most Electrical Engineers would dismiss as complete nonsense.

    Table Lamp PAT Test advice.

I think this thread has gone off course, a bit. On my first visual inspection of this lamp in question, my suspicions were aroused by what I perceived as the attached poor quality quality mains flex. I initially thought it had been rewired with that clear two core speaker cable, but further...

    Table Lamp PAT Test advice.

That's right, two label's on the mains flex, but neither have any indication of it being double insulated. But is the unmarked flex also a reason to fail it ?

    Table Lamp PAT Test advice.

I have been given some 240volt table lamps to PAT Test, that were recently purchased, from a well known large retailer. The lamp shade and the supporting stand and body are all made of metal. There are no markings to indicate if it is double insulated appliance. It is fitted with clear twin...

I had a close look at the bottom wash arm, and you were correct, it had a split each side along the join, I have glued it together with epoxy resin, and it now working fine, no more leaks. I have ordered a replacement pair, as I don't expect the adhesive to last for long. Your advice was much...
