Any easy way to move the toilet waste pipe?

Hi, we had a corner toilet and as we are in the renovation stage we'd like to move the toilet to the left so it's near or centre under the window. I was thinking of back to wall toilet like the below. How would you guys do it on a low budget? 1 Some magic from inside the bathroom? 2 Break the...

Can I use a live or neutral coloured cable with earth sleeving?

Hi, yes I should have been more specific. There is no bonding in our kitchen where we have a lead water pipe. Therefore could I still use the mentioned cable as above and earth sleeve on top of it. I'll have to look at the gas meter bonding and report back on that one. Cheers, Sparky

Can I use a live or neutral coloured cable with earth sleeving?

Hi, We have what it appears size wise to be some 12mm cable that I'd like to reuse as earth cable. Can I therefore use the red/black cable with earth sleeving on top and would this be okay? The kitchen is being re-done and there doesn't appear to be any earthing... and I can save a few quid...

What UPVC Window handle do I need?

Hi, I wonder if you can help me. If you look at the attached pictures the kitchen window has no handle. Unfortunately it was like this when we moved in a couple of weeks ago. Can you please advise on what handle I need to purchase? I've had a look at the standard handles and I can't seem to...

Gas Man Says built in hob should not have a flexible hose?

wow, woke up this morning and saw a massive conversation! I've got someone coming in for £100, which I'm happy with as I didn't see any volunteers in the post. Obviously I have no clue about his handy work, but I'm guessing he'll probably tee of the 15mm pipe and relocate to where the hob is...

Gas Man Says built in hob should not have a flexible hose?

I'm in London W12. If any one is interested let me know. £100 is fair and reasonable. I reckon you can do everything as is and without removing the kitchen units. The Oven pops out and the lead appears to be long enough to do so. I'd be happy to assist... with tea/coffee :) I'll take out the...

Gas Man Says built in hob should not have a flexible hose?

Kitchen fitter!!! It’s a cheap Logik from Currys. We weren’t sure if we wanted to stick with gas or go electric. But it’s been okay to be fair. At the quoted price we either stick with it, get the piping fixed (cheaper quote someone else) or just go electric, which may cause us even more...

Gas Man Says built in hob should not have a flexible hose?

Hi All, Any ideas why the gas man said my gas hob doesn't conform to building regs? We used to have a standalone cooker and we now have a fitted kitchen with a built in oven/gas hob. He mentioned the gas pipe needed to be fixed and that the flexible hose would not be ideal. Do I really care...

Stopcock. 2 taps on same feed, the 1st needs replacing rough cost?

Good news! No more leaking/flooding in the kitchen :). I think I'll re-visit my insurance options again.... This is what they did in the end:

Stopcock. 2 taps on same feed, the 1st needs replacing rough cost?

Checked the outside stopcock. It has a water meter in it + a tap. Turned it off and it reduced the flow considerably but not totally cut the flow off. The mains is just to far and we'd have to redecorate everything. The sink cabinet is going to be a major issue! Some fresh images. I'll...

Stopcock. 2 taps on same feed, the 1st needs replacing rough cost?

Its definitely the one at the bottom that is leaking. I can't see that tap being saved and its going to have to be replaced. I agree whoever installed the top tap (before our time at the house), must have installed it so not to interfere with the the original. I had a new kitchen floor laid and...

Stopcock. 2 taps on same feed, the 1st needs replacing rough cost?

Hi All, Please tell me its not going to cost an arm and a leg to get this replaced (london). The 1st stop cock is leaking and its causing a small flood in the kitchen :( Its leaking from the tap section (the bit you turn off/on for flow). I've given it a 'tap' with a hammer and its stopped...

    Uk > Euro travel Adapter

Hi, I need a travel adapter that can withstand a 2200w hair dryer, 3kw kettle and a dyson vacuum cleaner. The trouble is the uk>euro adapters rated at 10amp don't seem to be up to the job; with either the fuse popping or under the sheer draw/heat starts to melt. Does any one happen to have...

Can I get a COMBI with a 15mm gas connection?

Its a conventional boiler setup F&E, tank, cylinder + pump. Included some more side shots. To be honest the cylinder is very old (pure copper) check out the image - it has no immersion heater so if the combi failed, it's no different to the situation at present. It'll also add further...
