    Draining hot water cylinder

So do you mean remove the pipe from the top of the cylinder and Syphon out from there as oppose to using the drain valve?

How predictable were these responses.. I should never say I was a spark. Is there no quicker way then Syphoning?

    Draining hot water cylinder

Hello, I'm an electrician and getting several jobs where elements require replacement. Currently use good old gravity to drain them or sometimes a pump that fits on your drill. I think its time i bought a decent electric pump to speed the process up. Can anyone recommend an electric pump or...

Accuracy of test instruments for NIC

Well this certainly started a debate... I suppose at least the 9 resisters I found do come in a box, I'm not sure what they'd look like without it.;) Ok so maybe I'll speak with the NIC when they carry out my assessment. I think as long as I get a new calabration certificate for then it'll be...

Accuracy of test instruments for NIC

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will just have It calibrated for assessment any how and then buy a check box. I found one for £35 which is a fraction of the price of a transmille. http://www.tester.co.uk/calibration-checkbox?gclid=CNKxibKB88YCFa3MtAod_iwOww Take a look, what do you think?

Accuracy of test instruments for NIC

Hello all, I'm in the process of becoming NIC registered and just waiting for my assessment date now. One thing I need to get in place is an accuracy record of test instruments. In my current job we use a transmille every month to monitor the test kits but I don't really want to fork out for...

Part p jobs prior to joining the NICEIC

I'm going to be joining the NIC or possibly napit in the next month or so. However, I have some jobs coming up in the next week that are notifiable. I don't want to pay building control of my local authority a fortune for this as I might as well work for free otherwise. These jobs I have coming...

    Niceic or Napit?

I find side cutters best for removing them, if it's a bad one sometimes followed by some insulation tape maybe required, aka electricians plaster..😷

    Niceic or Napit?

After 15 years in the trade, I like to think so. As for bas and his splinter removal I can't answer that..

    Yes fair point..

    Niceic or Napit?

I was not fully aware of the difference to be honest. I know a domestic installer Can act like a 'bolt on' so other trades can part p their works. Although I've seen a lot of electricians vans that state they are domestic installers and I think this is where the confussions come from.

    Niceic or Napit?

That's not a problem, I have all qualifications in place and also a qualified supervisor for the company I currently work for..

    Niceic or Napit?

Ok. You will need more than registration for commercial work. What do you mean by more than registration? More than a domestic installer?

    Niceic or Napit?

I haven't looked into them to be honest. I'll look into them. Another thing I was interested in with the NIC was the online certificates that I could complete on my iPad or phone. Do Elecsa do any online certificates or certification software, also do Napit have mobile certification software?
