Motorised valve wll not shut off - possible programmer fault

I don't claim to be a plumber, just a jack of all trades and I fitted a Drayton 3-way motorised valve and it works in all situations. Admittedly, I had previously fitted a new Drayton programmer because I though that was at fault as it was interfering with the radio in the kitchen. Both...

Second hand Heatrae Sadia Sapphire/Pearl shower wanted

I wonder if anyone removing and scrapping a Heatrae Sadia Pearl shower (it could be described as a Pearl 850) or an old style Heatrae Sadia Sapphire shower, would sell it to me: please pm me if you can help. The only thing that I need working is the High-Power/Low-Power rocker switch, so as...

What does "shock absorber has light misting of oil&quot

Thanks guys. Yes, the £200 price tag is for Toyota parts. I looked at Monroe shockers and they are a third of the price but they show 4 different part nos for each rear shocker. The Corolla model changed a couple of months before I bought the car when new, so it will be difficult to ensure...

What does "shock absorber has light misting of oil&quot

Thanks Burnerman, now you say that, they do look like McPherson struts. As I cannot see any trace of the oil, does the "light misting of oil' occur when the shockers are depressed over the full travel? How on earth they can see it I do not know, because the top half of the shocker is covered...

What does "shock absorber has light misting of oil&quot

Toyota Corolla, 1.3 L, 1998, 120,000 miles. It passed the MOT, but had an advisory note "rear shock absorber has light misting of oil" for both shockers. I have had a look and cannot see any oil, what does the advisory note mean? The shockers bounce one and a half times when a rear corner...

This Sony link:- http://community.sony.com/t5/Television-General/how-do-I-clean-the-screen-on-my-LCD-bravia-52-inch-TV/td-p/73139 Sayes:- "Unplug the TV from the electrical outlet before cleaning. The LCD screen should be cleaned by using a soft and dry cloth. However, for more stubborn...

Freeview set top box cannot find the first 15 channels?

My widescreen TV reception is OK, I disconnected the aerial and connected it to an old Maplin Nikkia Freeview set top box to re-tune it in to an old Sony 14" TV. However, the Nikkai cannot find the first 15 channels, but it can for instance find ITV ch 4, Freeview ch 24. Is the Nikkai likely...

No hot stop tap, so can I use a bung in the cold tank

Thanks guys. With Googles help I found this "REGR05 Regin Radiator Valve Change Kit" "For use on 15mm & 22mm pipework":- http://www.clickonbathrooms.co.uk/regr05-regin-radiator-valve-change-kit-c2x10401641 Although it is probably more expensive than "bungs from the chemist", it looks...

No hot stop tap, so can I use a bung in the cold tank

I am unable to find a stop tap between the cold water storage tank in the loft and the hot water tank. There is a tap in the airing cupboard but is on the main rise to the cold water storage tank; this makes me think that this tap was put on the wrong pipe as there is also a stop tap on the...

No TV picture, is that due to an arial or digi-box failure?

Thanks but I was only able to do an auto tune or manual tune. However, I bit the bullet and bought a new Nikkai from Maplin and I now have a TV picture that appears brighter and clearer than the old Philips unit, so it must have been faulty.

    Cabling for TVs

I googled CT100 and this article says that WF100 foam dielectric is better than CT100 airspaced dielectric, see:- http://www.megalithia.com/elect/cable/index.html More types of cable are mentioned here:- http://www.aerialsat.com/prod/25m-wf100-pvc-webro-coax-cable.html BTW Maplin do...

No TV picture, is that due to an arial or digi-box failure?

Using freeview, my TV picture suddenly froze, I tried other channels but found no reception. I attempted to retune my digi-box but it said no channels detected, check arial. The reception here is good so my ariel is inside the roof, so I doubted that was the problem, so I tried an indoor ariel...

Can anyone advise how I could run this speaker cable? (pics)

I think that it depends whether you can do a nice job of filling the channel up afterwards to make it flush with the wall. You will probably need to do a lot of rubbing down afterwards to make it flat, if you do that then you are probably best using the sort of rubber rubbing block that they...

Too much noise from wall mounted tv

You could use lead sheet, maybe lead flashing that they put on roofs will do, I Googled "lead sheet" and found this:- http://www.midlandlead.co.uk/products/soundproofing.html Perhaps have a word with them and your neighbour, buy some lead and make a gasket out of it so that your neighbour...
