    Hot water pipes

Dont know but when I fitted my power shower mi's stated to use 22mm and only reduce down to the 3/4" 15mm tap connector for the last couplle of cm's so I thought he same principle would apply, please let me know if my assumptions are incorrect.

    Hot water pipes

Yes the 15mm is only supplying the basin does that make a difference, the cold supply is main. Not sure how pressure and flow/volume works does the pressure remain the same with 22mm pipe but the volume is increased due to the larger bore.

    Hot water pipes

Thats what I'm worried about as modern mixers taps seem to have small bore tails. Decided it's probally not worth the risk so will be fitting 22mm.

    Hot water pipes

About to fit a new shower, toilet and sink to my daughters en suite and have noticed the hot water supply is in 15mm copper. The hot water comes from a copper hot water cylinder fed from via 28mm pipe from the 140ltr tank in the loft. the 15mm pipe is tee'd into the 22mm hot water pipe that...

    Flexible hoses

Never really thought about it before, but I installed a Franke kitchen tap that came with flexis together with standard 15mm isolating valves so thought that was the way to go but the flow particularly the hot water has never been good. Anyway worked out how to do the job avoiding flexis so...

    Flexible hoses

I've bought some 3/4"x 15mm flexible hoses with an isolating valve built in to plumb in a bath and I've noticed the internal bore particularly through the valve part is very small approx 6mm. My hot and cold water pressure is not very good so I'm concerned that this reduction in bore will effect...

    Lead loc!!

I need to re-configure some underground pipe work my neighbours plumber messed up and wondered if the leadloc to mdpe fittings can be re-used. I only ask to see if I can save my neighbour a bit of money.

    Neighbour cut off my water.

Yorkshire water came out today and it turns out neighbour was wrong about stopcock and the one he thought supplied us didn't plus it was'nt seized. Our supply didn't have a stopcock so Yorkshire water are fitting one FOC. While the guy from YW was checking out the stopcock situation neighbour...

    Neighbour cut off my water.

I was going to ask him to use a piece of the 25mm mdpe pipe he used to connect up the garage using the correct lead to plastic connectors.

    Neighbour cut off my water.

Spoke to yorkshire water today mainly about a quote for my own supply which came in at £1500  there no way I can afford that at the moment so I will be sticking to the shared supply. I also mentioned what had happened on Saturday this being the main reason I would like my own supply...

    bathroom lighting

I currently have a split load consumer unit and the shower pump, fan and heated illuminated mirror are connected to the rcd side. Is it required under the 17th edition regs to have the lights connected to the rcd side, the ceilings 2.4m high. I've also read that under 17th ed regs...

    10mm half moon trowel.

Just want to make sure I've bought the correct adhesive trowel for laying 610mm x405mm x 12mm thick travertine tiles to plasterboard walls and marine ply floor. I've been advised on here I need to use a 10mm halfmoon adhesive trowel which I presume mean't 10mm deep notches The notches measure...

    Neighbour cut off my water.

Thats what I thought. The stopcocks looked like standard brass to me with 15mm compression fittings, I did look but couldn't see any writing on them. How do I tell if they are suitable for underground.

    Neighbour cut off my water.

My neighbour showed me the piece of lead pipe that had been cut out and the internal bore didn't look much bigger than 15mm but the copper pipe looked like standard copper pipe to me. When I told him about the pressure/flow reduction since yesterday he said that he wouldn't be concreting in...

    Neighbour cut off my water.

No it's definately lead, something else I forgot to mention which Im also not happy about is that he used 15mm copper pipe to go from the lead to the stopcocks. As far as I'm aware copper pipe should not be used underground plus I think it will add to the restriction that the stopcock has created.

    Neighbour cut off my water.

Was your neighbour's garage connected previously? If the answer is no then the plumber has obviously connected your neighbour's garage to the wrong supply pipe! The garage has just been built and there was no water previously.

    Neighbour cut off my water.

Having now spoken to my neighbour the diagram I posted was not correct so here's how it should have looked. I think the plumber should have connected into my neighbours side of the Y and left mine alone. I said previously he worked on the pipe live and yes he did get wet, according to...
