Fixing Plasma TV onto stud partition wall

Good idea. Didn't even think of tackling it that way. Doing it this way i could use metal or even a plywood sheet. Bolt the bracket to the plywood/metal then screw this into the studwork so the weight is spread across as many studs as possible. Cheers mate. Knew someone would give me a different...

    new internal doors

Hi! Normally these oak doors are chipboard inside and only oak veneered. The only reason why i tell you this is that if the joiner needs to shave it down to size he/she will only have a certain amount they can take off a side before the chipboard shows. I have found LPD doors have a max of 14mm...

    Door Frame/casing/lining???

Hi my name is Mike You will need to fix a door casing. Door cases have a rebate/recess in the wood in which the door will sit in when closed. This gives the door something to shut to, preventing it from being ripped off its hinges and also to prevent light traveling from one room to another...

Lowered ceiling - what timber for studwork

any 3x2 version will be good enough. Like you said it's only to support the plasterboard. If you feel more confortable with the wider 2" side so you can get a better fix to your plasterboards then go for that. I wasn't expecting u to remove loft joists but thought you might be using new ceiling...
