    V4043H actuators are they interchangeable???

Is the actuator head from say a 1056 the same as the 1106? My dad's 1106 has just failed. The teeth are worn so that the microswitch is not made because the toothed plate never reaches it as it slips. No plans to change the valve body as it appears to operate just fine by hand. But unless...

Fixing pipe clips to plasterboard on plaster/Breeze blocks!!

Having a nightmare trying to get double pipe clips to securely fix to a wall which is a thin skim on top of plasterboard on top of plaster on top of breeze block. Using frame fixings is making a mess and cracking the plaster. Anything bigger than a size 8 fixing the head is massive in the...

Concrete fence under roof overhang??? Anybody done this???

Thanks to both of you for the replies :D I see what you mean, I think i'll give that a try. I do have to cut the panel down anyway so maybe I could put the bracing pieces on once the panel is in place, this would give me extra flexibility.

Concrete fence under roof overhang??? Anybody done this???

I want to extend my fence up to my garage which a single storey flat roof. The obvious problem being that I wouldn't be able to slide in or out a fence panel due to the overhang of the soffit. The simplest way I could see was to use an end post and grind off one of the lips (turning a...

Boundary question. Has anybody come across this before?

I have a question relating to my boundary which could apply to many other peoples boundaries and as yet I have not been able to find an answer. My deeds show a plan view of my home within my street. The boundary is marked by a red outline, however my question is this. My garage is on the...

Best wood for long term external exposure???

Thanks for the reply :D The bow windows are White Upvc. The brackets once made will be painted white to match. With this is mind, would you suggest any specific type of timber? Would I need to use a pre treated timber or would it not matter. The window fitter made some out of sawn...

I need to make two gallows/corbel type brackets for a pair of Bow windows. What would be the recommended wood to use? Plus what if any additional treatment/paint should I use to further help protect the wood? Thanks in advance.

Consumer unit and lights require adding to Rcd circuit?

Thanks for the reply :D So to clarify, adding an additional light to an existing light ring circuit would not require a separate connection to an Rcd circuit? i.e. would be connected in the ring either by loop in or junction box? What therefore is the difference (in terms of the...

Consumer unit and lights require adding to Rcd circuit?

I was talking to an electrician today about having an additonal light fitted into our living room and he said that recent changes to the electrical regulations require that all new lighting circuits need to be on an Rcd circuit. This got me to thinking.... Does that mean only new circuits...

Electrical check for new extension certification????

Thanks again for the the replies. I will contact the builder in the first instance tomorrow. As if he can get the electrician to come and complete the work then it seems this would be by far the least amount of hassle.

Many thanks to both of you for the replies. In answer to the question 'what exactly are you using it for so we can suggest help full solutions' I am building what is commonly known as a 'Floating wall' for my Av equipment. In simple terms it is just a frame fixed to the wall which...

Electrical check for new extension certification????

I completely agree, but for an extension that was supposed to have been completed in 3 weeks, now nearly 4 months on and it is complete except for the electrical certification. We keep being told Electrician is coming only to wait a whole week and he not appear, then another week of the same...
