Having a nightmare trying to get double pipe clips to securely fix to a wall which is a thin skim on top of plasterboard on top of plaster on top of breeze block.

Using frame fixings is making a mess and cracking the plaster. Anything bigger than a size 8 fixing the head is massive in the clip.

Given that the strongest part of the wall is the breeze block right at the back are there any alternative fixings???

:(

Frame fixings? How deep do you need to go? How about long normal screws and plugs, eg 2 1/2" or 3" size 8s and brown plugs, 7mm masonry drill? Drill deep enough so that the plug can be tapped through the plaster and into the breeze block. Oh and would probably drill slowly and try it without hammer action if it is breeze block.

My missus likes those.

Whoops, should have waited for the picture to load!

Thanks for the replies.

Its not far off being 2.5" to the breeze blocks.

I think i've managed it now with 8x120 frame fixers.
